Blog BadgeWelcome to the White Pines Australasian Blog Hop.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from Simone’s, Scrappy Matters you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the White Pines collection which is only available through until the end of December 2015.

My project is a wall hanger.  You may recognise it as the 5″ x 7″ Hinged Display (Z1838) that usually sits horizontally on a bench.  I turned it 90°, added a couple of eyelet hooks to the back and threaded a Base & Bling necklace chain (Z3160) through the eyelets.  My plan is to add a family group photo in the largest space and  couples photos of my 2 kids with their partners in the 2 smaller spaces.

WP hanger

I used goodies from the White Pines Scrapbooking WOTG (G1098), some Bitty Sparkles (Z1263) and Red Bead Charms (Z3139). The following tips will explain how I filled the decorative sections.

Cut the blue print paper as per instructions on the stamp carrier sheet and use the stamp included in the WOTG with Fern ink (Z2650).  Stamp it again on a scrap with Cranberry ink (Z2116), cut just the ‘Christmas’ and layer this with foam tape. Last of all  colour with the Carmine Shin Han Marker (Z2448) over the top of the Fern ink and added some bitty sparkles.

This one was cut using the Cricut Artistry Cricut Cartridge (p 48).  The year was stamped using Typography (E1032).  Finish off with Red Enamel Gems and Bitty Sparkles.

The 3D trees are fun!  Cut 3 trees from Fern Cardstock as per instructions on WOTG stamp set and stamp with Fern ink.  Cover the stars with VersaMark ink (Z891), dip them into the jar of Silver Embossing Powder Z2067) and heat them up.

Next, score each tree down the middle, glue back to back as shown with Liquid Glass (Z679) and add Red Enamel Gems (Z3090)

To create a bit of variety in each section, add some polystyrene behind some of the papers.  The best adhesive for the job is Glue Dots (1772).  Use them to stick the polystyrene to the display tray and then to stick the paper to the polystyrene.

Paper Fundamentals – Tiger Tom

Standard

The paper fundamentals are so easy to use!  If you haven’t tried them yet, I’d encourage you to get your hands on some.  One side of the paper is shiny with an embossed pattern on it and the reverse is matte, features the same pattern, but adds white to it.

If you like scrapbooking with solid colours you will love the subtle patterns of these packs.

Enchantment Fundamentals

My layout today is one of the designs featured in the Simply Fundamental Bundle offer.

TigerI cried a little as I made this tribute to my beautiful cat, Tiger, who passed away this year. I love that my albums give me a place to record feelings as well as events.

The cat and ball of wool stamps come from Love My Cat (A1181).  I stamped them in black ink on plain cardstock, fussy cut and raised them on foam tape.

All the other embellishments came in my bundle from this month’s special.  It’s a great deal.  Choose any album you like and receive Enchantment Fundamentals Papers (Z3126), Enchantment Fundamentals Stickers (Z3164) and Peacock Fundamental Assortments (Z3098).  You also receive a pack of page protectors FREE.  That’s a saving of $29.50. We have 5 fab layouts you can make with your papers PLUS I will be offering a free class in January to each person ordering a bundle from me this month AND I’ll post you pre-cut pieces to make the fun UP! page I featured earlier this month. Click here to choose your bundle.

In addition, you qualify for this month’s Stamp of the Month, Cheers, 2016! for just $7.50

CTMH Urban Paper Collection

I love the textures and architectural elements featured in the designs of the Urban papers.  They are a perfect pairing for photos taken during our tour of the Sydney Opera House earlier this year.

CTMH Urban Paper CollectionThis photo looks a little different to the first one… this is my base layout and the photo above shows the layout with Flip Flaps added.  I wanted the layout to have strong clear lines, just as the Opera House does but, of course, we took way too many photos.  My favourite product solved that problem.

CTMH Urban Paper CollectionThis is what the LH page looks like with the 4″ x 6″ Flip Flaps open.  I love that I have lots of room for journaling now.

CTMH Urban Paper CollectionAnd this is what the RH page looks like with the long 4″ x 12″ Flip Flap open.

Adding a few stickers from the Complements Pack to the banners and journal boxes helped pull the layout together without making it too busy.  The titles were cut using the Artistry Cricut Cartridge.

Urban papers, assortment and compliments can be  ordered from your CTMH Consultant . It’s our featured collection all month so keep your eye out for more inspiration throughout November.

Enchantment Fundamentals – Up Page

Standard

One of the things I love most about being a consultant with Close To My Heart is the amazing support I am offered for my business.  I rarely have to come up with an original idea to share in my classes.  Today’s page was one we were given at our recent Convention.  I completed it over the weekend. (Note re the photo…Mike has taught me well, sometimes you have to lay on the floor to get the perfect shot!)

Up page

This paper pack is part of the bundle on special this month.  It’s an absolute bargain.  An album, papers, stickers, blingy bits and FREE page protectors plus FREE patterns for 5 layouts.  Everyone ordering a bundle this month also receives a gift from me – all the pre-cut paper pieces to make this ‘Up!’ page and a FREE workshop in January to fill up that album.  Click here for all the details of the bundle.

The theme of our convention was “Up!” and the opening session saw our executive team re-enacting the movie and cleverly introducing new products and promotions throughout their performance.  It was so much fun to see our US ‘Numbers Man’ Brian Holman, eating endless Ozzie sweet treats as he played the part of the dog.  Monica Wihongi’s badge sash was covered with Base & Bling and our own general Manager, Brian O’Callaghan, happily aged a few decades to play the main character.

Convention 2015 Dazzlers

Do you have this much fun in your job?  Join our team and come to Adelaide next October for our annual convention.  All these gals are coming again.  Click here for details about becoming a Close To My Heart consultant.

Australasian November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop – S1511 Cheers, 2016!

Standard

Blog BadgeWelcome to the November Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from Anne’s Blog you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Cheers, 2016! (S1511) stamp set which is November’s Stamp of the Month.

Nov SOTM

I know we have 2 full months to go of 2015 but it’s time to start thinking about your goals and dreams for the new year.

I recently attended the Close To My Heart Australasian Convention.  We talked about goal setting for our business and were set some challenges for the next 3 months.  I have set my own, much higher goals and wanted a way to keep a visual reminder of these goals for the next 12 months.  Here it is.

Tahiti Goals

If I meet the goals I’ve set myself, Mike & I will earn an all expenses paid trip to Tahiti.  I loved going to Hawaii this year – Close To My Heart sure know how to spoil a girl.

I used the Paper Fundamentals for this layout.  There are 4 packs – Enchantment (Z3126), Adventure (Z3125), Whimsy (Z3127) and Basic (Z3128).  I love that one side of the paper is embossed and shiny while the other side is matte and features a subtle pattern.

The tags you can see are tucked behind the challenge cards we received at convention.  I used 3″ square Flip Flaps to make a pocket for the tag to slide in and out of.  The “I Can” phrase is heat embossed with silver and the Base & Bling charms are attached with Thick Twine.

Here’s how I made the hidden pockets…

Flip Flap hidden pockets

Begin with a 3″ x 3″ Flip Flap from the Small Assortment pack (Z1747).  Cut off the tab with the adhesive strip.

Nov SOTM - Page 002

Attach the Flip Flap firmly to the back of your challenge card (or photo).  Add adhesive around all edges of the Flip Flap and attach to your photo mount.

Flip Flap hidden pockets

You now have a pocket made of plastic for the tag to slip into.

Flip Flap hidden pockets

I stamped the lines and the banner from the Cheers, 2016! stamp set and hand wrote my title.  The letters are for each month.  At the end of the month I will record my final figures and see if my goal was achieved.

Cheers, 2016! (S1511) is only available during November, 2015.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.
