I was thrilled to receive this page and certificate in the mail this week.  Close To My Heart support the work of Operation Smile who help restore smiles to children living in poverty, born with cleft lip and/or palette.

Operation Smile Fundraising Award

I can only imagine the heartache a mother feels when her baby  can’t nurse because his mouth can’t close properly.  I can only imagine the sadness felt by a child scorned and turned away from school because of this condition.  I can only imagine the joy felt by every family member when corrective surgery changes that child’s life forever.

That is why I support this charity.  In our country, this surgery is offered early and is commonplace  In other countries, families walk for long distances to mobile clinics manned by volunteers in the hope they will be chosen.  Each dollar we raise in my crafting room goes toward helping one more family realise their dream.

I want to thank all of the lovely ladies who join our Paper Picnics and purchase raffle tickets each month and those who make extra donations.  Together we raised almost $1500 last year, that is 5 surgeries!  You are wonderful.

Here are a couple of close ups of the lovely page made by the CTMH art department  It features  La Vie En Rose papers and the Regatta Workshop Your Way.  I look forward to taking a photo of my happy croppers next time we meet so I can complete the page.

We don’t have grandchildren yet but we have a very adorable grand- fur ball named Luna.  Her mummy and daddy flood our Facebook with cute photos and she even has an Instagram account of her own.  Check it out @luna_the_calico.  I decided to do some pages using some of these photos.  These 2 stamp sets were perfect for the job.

Today’s layout comes from p110 of the Cherish How To Book.  It’s a clean design suited to the Fundamentals Paper range.  This layout uses Basics and Adventure Fundamentals.

Luna

stampaganzaBegin with these cute cats.  Using scraps of White Daisy stamp just the head of the cat from Friendly Pets (B1481) 15 times.  Using Shin Han markers, try to make them look like calico cats – that’s the new name for tortoiseshell puddies.  Did you know they are all girls?  Next you need to fussy cut these images.

Calico Cats

Don’t you love those inquisitive little faces?  Have some fun with these cheeky fur babies popping up on all sides of the squares.

This little cat is super cute. The colouring was so easy because a calico cat has a very random coat colouration – anything works!

The sentiments all come from Love My Cat (A1181) and the hearts are from the Black Fundamental Assortments (Z3104)

Stampaganza runs until March 31. Order all 3 stamps you want and the one with the lowest price will be given to you at no charge. Order 6 stamps and the 2 lowest price ones will be given to you.  Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Today’s layout celebrates the two loves in my daughter’s life – her gorgeous man and her cat!  Penelope is a perfect match for Kathryn’s vibrant personality.

Penelope Blog Hop

I love the look of pages with a solid colour as a border but I don’t always want the bulk of a second layer of cardstock.  Thank heavens for the 1/4″ rolls of Limeade Washi Tape (Z3198) that comes in the Penelope Workshop Your Way Kit.  It is super easy to frame your page this way.

Penelope Title

The Penelope Complements(X7207C) are just lovely.  The titles can be used twice!  Use the stickers on one layout and the negative space on another.  Complements are also part of the Workshop Your Way Kit.

Penelope Flags

If you have ‘flat’ spots on your layout, reach for your scraps.  This cluster of flags was made from the offcuts left in the pack.  The heart vellum is one of the die-cuts in the Complements pack and that really cute starburst is from Playful Puffies (Z3205).  Puffies are raised a little bit but they are spongy so ideal for use in your albums.  They also come in the Workshop Your Way kit.

Do you like the journal boxes on this layout?  They are the PML cards that come in the paper pack.  All you have to do is cut them out and stick them down – it couldn’t be simpler.

Penelope WYW

The Penelope Workshop Your Way kit suits any photo theme. They are only available until the end of April, 2016.   Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Don’t you just want to smile when you see these stamps?

We have a beautiful wetlands near our home which we walk in several mornings a week.  Late spring is such a fabulous time to visit as the Rainbow Bee Eaters come to nest.  They are only 20cm long and they nest in burrows in the ground!  I’ve been saving these photos to use with this stamp set.  I hope you like it.  The Penelope Papers provide a happy backdrop.

Mar 2016 SOTM layout

Each photo mount on the string is 3″ x 4″.  All the photo mounts on the page have been ‘wrapped’ in a 1/4″ border of Washi Tape.  I love this wide green tape from the Limeade Pack (Z3198)  I found the speediest way to use it was to stick it to two cards at a time, cut them apart and fold the excess to the back.  Glacier Thick Twine (Z3029) threaded nicely through the 1/8″ holes in the cards.

The top border had some pattern added courtesy of the CTMH Corner Rounder (Z1912).  If you slide the lower plastic guide off you can use it as a scallop punch.  I spaced mine out to make it look like blades of grass for the butterflies to rest on.  Use the markings on your Versamat to make the spaces even.

Sunshine Birdies (S1603) is only available during March, 2016.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.
