S1901 Card Captions - CTMH Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to the our first Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop for 2019.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from Doreen's Blog, you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Card Captions (S1901) stamp set which is January’s Stamp of the Month.

S1901 Card Captions is January 2019's Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart. Order yours from www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au.

At first glance this stamp set appears to be only for cards but as a diehard scrapper I could see potential for use on celebration pages too.

Today’s page features photos of a birthday celebration.  I took inspiration from the placement of sentiments on the carrier sheet and arranged all the birthday-ish stamps along one edge of the 5” x 6” block.  The little line drawn images fill any spaces beautifully.  I stamped in Pebble ink as I didn’t want the words to dominate on the page.  Once completed I felt these sections needed a little ‘pop’ so I stamped ‘Happy’ onto scraps of the yellow stripe paper, fussy cut and glued over the original stamping.

This layout design was featured on Close To My Heart’s Make It From Your Heart blog during December.  I loved the simplicity of it and printed the pattern.  The newly released Mix-in papers suited my photos beautifully.  Once completed I played with two new stamp sets for the decorative elements.

The balloons and streamer clusters come from the Something Fierce Cardmaking set.  My tip for stamping the string is to stamp on the background first, then stamp the bow on the balloon and layer over the image on the background.  Pop the front balloon up on foam dots.

The cupcakes are from Years of Sweetness.  I love the effect of shading the icing with two different stamps and ink colours.  There is a matching Cricut cut for this cupcake but I fussy cut it quite easily.

Card Captions  (S1901) is only available during January, 2019.  Full retail price is $29.50 AUD but you can have this gorgeous set for just $8.25 AUD when accompanied by an $82.50 AUD order. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant.

Love how you have incorporated your hand stamped background paper into your layout. Really is one of the easiest ways to use this stamp set on a scrapbook layout. The balloons & cupcakes make perfect additions too.

Great layout Shaunna, and the tip re stamping the balloon string first then adding the tie after is very clever.
