Celebrate a special woman in your life

This stamp set is filled with heartfelt sentiments to share your feelings for a special woman you know.  You may be a friend or a relative, this stamp caters for many relationships.  It’s only available this month and I know it will be a firm favourite in your collection for card making and scrapbooking.

Use Cherish Her on a scrapbook layout

I’ve been learning about asymmetric designs and layering the past couple of weeks.  I decided to have a go at both on one layout.  What do you think?  It was easier than I thought to create a balanced page even though I started with the large triangle at the top.  I only had 3 photos of this holiday sewing project so it’s a single page.

Use Cherish Her to enhance printed paper

This photo shows the heart print from a Mix In paper pack as it comes (top) and enhanced by adding stamping (bottom).  Begin stamping your largest element randomly on the pre-cut piece of paper. I just stamped ‘aunt’ where ever it would fit comfortably between the patterns. Then fill in the gaps with the smaller stamps.  In this case I added 2 small hearts to my block.

Use Cherish Her to add background stamping

The lower half of the page was too stark for my liking so I stamped that beautiful bouquet a few times in Mink Ink to fill some gaps.  You can plan where these images would go by placing your photos on the page and adding a few pencil marks.  Then  remove the photos and add the stamped bouquets where there would be gaps.

Create interesting embellishment clusters with layering

Begin the top right cluster by stamping the bouquet onto the light side of Ballerina Cardstock and colouring with TriBlend Markers.  The pink cardstock tones down the colour of the markers so this element doesn’t dominate on the page. Fussy cut the bouquet and tuck the stems behind one photo.

Next add a pleasing circular shape to soften the overall design. The scalloped Circle Thin Cut is ideal for this job.

The cute koalas are from a retired stamp set.  They went perfectly with the Australian animal print used on the quilt.  They were also coloured with TriBlend markers, fussy cut and then popped up on foam dots.

A little bling just rounds out a design don’t you think? I was delighted to find these Sangria coloured hearts in my stash.  It is amazing how many times a retired Close To My Heart product matches perfectly with a new product.  Something old, something new!
