Use For My Beautiful Friend to make Paper Candy

What’s Paper Candy? It’s pre-made embellishments ready to add to cards or scrapbook pages.  If you feel like experimenting with a new technique or tool you can make a number of samples that can then be applied to projects. 

My face to face and online  workshops this month are focusing on using tags so most of my paper candy has a tag as a base.  The papers are from the latest Mix In pack (X9017) so I know they will blend with Summer Vibes and Timber – the two collections in the July/August catalogue.

All the colouring has been done with Shimmer Brushes.  They come in 17 different colours and are super easy to use. Simply brush lightly over the paper to add colour and glitter at the same time.

Heat embossing helps images stand out on darker or patterned backgrounds. 

When you stamp images on cardstock, fussy cut close to the outline and pop them up on foam dots, you add dimension to the paper candy.

Three ways to use your Paper Candy

Now you have options! 

1. Create a simple card background for your candy and add a stamped sentiment
2. Add candy to a layout as part of a larger cluster including stickers or a title.
3. Fill a 3” x 4” photo well to create your own PML card.
