This big bold stamp is perfect for scrapbookers like me. There are so many things that make my heart happy which I record in my albums.

Every summer a number of outdoor cinemas open in and around Perth, Western Australia.  The evenings here are balmy, perfect for a picnic dinner and a movie.  Our favourite movies are the ones shown as part of the International Film Festival.  Most are a little quirky, frequently in another language and always give insight into the way others live.  Each year we try to introduce new people to the pleasures of this pastime.

I drew inspiration for this layout from Pattern 5 of Make It From Your Heart Vol 2.  The papers come from the gorgeous Heart Happy collection which is only available until the end of this month.

When stamping with large stamps (this one is about 6” x 4”) I prefer to dab ink onto the block then apply stamp as usual but flip the paper and block over to rub with my hand.  This helps ensure all the ink is applied to the paper.

Once stamped in Sapphire ink, I added colour using the Mint and Red Shimmer brushes.  The fine point of the brush is great for detailed stroke work.

I was thrilled to discover the Curlicue alphabet stamp set in my stash – it compliments the font used in the Heartfelt Sentiments title and perfectly fits the banner from the Heartfelt Sentiments.  Stamp one letter at a time so you can follow the curve of the banner. Begin with the middle letter and work out. The Curlicue set was part of a Cricut collection.

Heartfelt Sentiments  (S1902) is only available during February, 2019.  Full retail price is $29.50 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $8.25 when accompanied by an $82.50 order. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant.

You will find the bright colours in this pack very addictive – I’m on my 3rd pack of papers!!  Today’s layout is the third in a series on our visit to Camden Markets in London.  As the photos were black and white I had free range for my choice of papers to use.

The Love of Colour Book is an invaluable resource we all need to own.  It shows colour combinations that work together!  I flipped to the Bluebird page as that is one of the colours featured in Something Fierce. The 4 colour combo suited this pack well.  Whilst it isn’t exactly the same shade of yellow and pink in the pack, the combo works well.

Having pulled out papers, stickers and cut apart images in this colour combination, I was ready to create. The suggested layout in Love of Colour worked brilliantly for these photos.  The bright colours really help my black and white images stand out.  The charcoal accents tie it all together.

This cluster is a combination of images from the cut-apart sheet, sticker sheet, fussy cut scallops from the paper and a PML card I cut up.  The rest of the PML card provided the boxes for the journaling on the pages.

I felt the layout needed something more and so I reached for my Alphabet stamps.  The title is made using Simply Said and Brushed Letters – my two favourite sets in the current catalogue.  Looking at the punctuation stamps in Brushed Letters, I decided to add the single dot either side of ‘Camden’ and the 3 dots as borders above and below my papers – not exactly even spacing but it’s OK.  Done is better than perfect, right?

By the way, Alphabet Stamps are 35% off this month!

The Boutique collection is available until the end of December 2018. Buy it as a full kit or purchase individual items.  Today I am sharing a layout and a card. The layout was made using the leftovers after completing the 3 layouts from the Standard Workshop Your Way.

Boutique blog.jpg

It’s a super simple layout! I took all the full 12” strips I had, divided them into 2 unequal widths and stuck them to the edges of the pages. The triangular zip strip was needed for a bit of interest.  Base pages are Linen cardstock

Next up was photo mats – the majority of these are cut apart PML cards. They are either 3×4 or 4×6 so I just trimmed my photos a little and I was in business.

The multicoloured striped journal box is also a PML card. It was a fun way to add interest without effort. The puffy stickers that come in the workshop kit are so fun to use.

Lastly, I stamped the titled using the new Brushed Letters Alphabet Set. I love that they are tall and narrow so you can fit a longer word into a small space.

This card was lots of fun to create. I mixed Boutique prints with Mint, Peacock and Sugarplum cardstock. The tag was created using the Fancy Tags Thin Cuts – a MUST HAVE in your kit for sure. The stamp set is from the More Magical collection which is only available until the end of this month. I heat embossed the images with white powder. And those little dots on the right-hand side? That’s texture paste applied through a stencil. I’m having such fun learning how to use this new product.

WYW contents

The Some Kinda Wonderful collection is  from the Seasonal Expressions Jan-Apr 2017 Catalogue.  This pack has lots of bright colours in it but the black helps keep it from being overwhelming.  Most of the bright prints have a subtle one on the reverse of the paper.

Today I’ve used Some Kinda Wonderful on a layout featuring photos of street art in Tahiti’s capital, Papeete.  It was a drizzly overcast morning and we thought a museum was in order.  Turned out the museum didn’t open on a Sunday.  We decided to walk around the streets instead – something we love to do in cities we haven’t visited before.  As soon as you step beyond the main tourist strip you see a completely different scene.  We were delighted to discover many of the Papeete buildings featured truly amazing art work.

Some Kinda Wornderful Papeete

Trim around the circle print using  scissors to give this paper a new look.  Stamping on the circles with Handwritten Alphabet stamps (E1030) creates a focal point of your title.

This street art was painted as part of the Tahiti Street Art Festival.  If you are ever travelling to Tahiti, be sure to stop over in Papeete and walk behind the tourist precinct.

The Some Kinda Wonderful Workshop Your Way  (G1121) kit is only available until the end of April. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you can order online through my website .
