The Sugar Rush collection is  from the Seasonal Expressions Jan-Apr 2017 Catalogue.  The soft hues and whimsical patterns are such fun to work with.  Today I’ve used Sugar Rush on a layout all about my quirky husband.  I snapped these photos whilst travelling in Germany over Christmas and New Year.  The photos highlight Mike’s personality so well and the Sugar Rush Scrapbooking Stamp Set (D1715) summed him up perfectly!  He really is the sprinkles on my ice cream of life!

This layout was created using leftovers after completing the Workshop Your Way layouts.  The strip on the left hand side is 4″ wide and each of the squares are 2″.  The co-ordinating stamp set lends itself to lots of themes.

Here are some close ups of the way I used the stamps, complements and sparkly dots on the layout.

The Sugar Rush Workshop Your Way (G1118) kit is only available until the end of April. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you can order online through my website .

This is a beautiful set of diverse blooms, ideal for those of you who enjoy colouring.  My favourite sentiment on this set is “You’re a whole lot of wonderful“.  I have so many awesome women in my life who deserve a card with that phrase on it.  I also love the little Forget-me-nots to the left of ‘Thank You’.  Did you know they are the symbol for Alzheimer’s suffers?

s1612-layout

Today’s layout keeps the flowers as outline drawings.  The photos of my friend Tanya’s gorgeous shop, Cotton Rose, were so vibrant I didn’t want the stamps competing with them.

A subtle hint of colour around and on the stamps was achieved as follows:

  • Cut 2″ circles from White Daisy cardstock and add sponging around the edges using a dauber and Lemon Ink.  Working on the All Purpose Mat makes clean up easy.
  • Stamp flowers using Memento Black ink.
  • Using dauber again, add a ‘smudge’ of colour to flower centres.
  • Bitty Sparkles also add some dimension.
  • Sprinkle a few Green Triangles between the circles to give a hint of foliage.

You will find a list of the products used on the layout at the end of this post.

Thoughtful Flowers (S1612) is only available during December, 2016.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant.

Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Celebrate with Cake (S1605) stamp set which is May’s Stamp of the Month.

This is such a versatile set.  You can stamp on coloured papers in black ink or stamp on white cardstock and colour in.  The images work with Shin Hans, Watercolour Pencils and Watercolour Paints.  We all have photos of high teas, weddings, birthdays and anniversaries that will look fab with this set of stamps.  Cards for all those celebrations will also be a breeze.  Enjoy the hop for some inspiration.

So where is the cake????  You know I always try to look past the obvious with a new stamp set!  This page is nothing to do with a birthday or wedding.  It’s me making goodies to give to my ladies at Duchess Retreat last year.  I love any stamps that have a textural element so this little square caught my eye.

Choose 7 ink colours and stamp the frame on an 11 3/4″ square of White Daisy cardstock.  Add a 9″ Crystal Blue square for the photo mount and use Silver Foil Tape (Z3130) as a highlight.  Mount it all on Hollyhock Cardstock.

Tip:  If you want to make a matching page for the other side of the layout cut a 9″ square from the centre of the Crystal Blue and Hollyhock.  Then alternate the colours on the second page.

Add bling to match the ink colours.

The banner from the stamp set makes a perfect mini journal box.
