S1706 Hello Foxy is CTMH's Stamp of the Month for July 2017. Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au

The foxes and flowers are petite so you can fit a few on a card or page border.  They all look great coloured with your favourite medium and the sentiments are fun.

The next card uses the Wood Slats embossing folder.  Once it is embossed, simply run the Desert Sands ink pad over the raised elements to create contrast.  Move the inkpad in the direction of the lines with a light touch for best results. The frolicking foxes were hand cut.  The wood panel paper is also from the No Worries paper pack.

Then you click on the link at the end of this post and it will take you to the next blog and so on and so on. Easy and fun! Little Dreamer collection from Close To My Heart http://shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9932&ci=8409

The Little Dreamer collection is available until the end of August 2017.  Buy it as a full kit or individual items.

When you purchase the Little Dreamer WYW Kit, you can download instructions to make 3 layouts and 6 cards (2 each of 3 designs).  You do have paper and embellishments left over.  Today I’ll share how I use the left overs along with one each of the card fronts to make 3 more layouts!  All I then had left were a few small paper scraps and stickers that I will give to a crafty little girl I know.  I have nothing to store – the whole kit is gone.  That means I can buy another collection – guilt free!!!!

These are the layouts and cards we have instructions for:

CTMH Little Dreamer Workshop Your Way layouts http://shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9932&ci=84091705-se-little-dreamer-wyw-layout-021705-se-little-dreamer-wyw-layout-01CTMH Little Dreamer Collection http://shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au/Retail/Product.aspx?ItemID=9932&ci=8409

Place layouts in this order and work on the backs of the papers.  If you look at my layouts below, the left and right pages have different background papers.  Use plain cardstock in Thistle, Glacier, Lagoon and Daisy White to blend the colours of the designs.

Can you spot the card front? It is layered on two of the Cut Apart PML cards that come in the pack.  Glacier Cardstock provides the mat for the enlargement.

Little Dreamer Bonus Pages - 2

The lagoon cardstock strip has been embossed with the Confetti Stars folder.  Feed the strip into the folder from both ends to create the design with more stars on the outer edges.

Little Dreamer Bonus Pages - 3

As this is the final layout, you will need a full sheet of Glacier cardstock for the base of the RH page.  Don’t the card fronts work beautifully as page embellishments?

Now, if you are wondering why there are no photos on these layouts… it’s because, after 15 years of furious scrapbooking, I have run out of photos!!!!  So, if you are one of my friends, send me some snaps to use and I will gift the pages to you when I’m finished teaching them 🙂

The Little Dreamer Collection  is available to purchase from your Close To My Heart consultant.  A list of products used in my projects appears at the end of this post.  Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you can order online through my website .

I’d love you to leave a comment for me before you go.  Then click on the underlined link and move on to Doris’ Blog , Creative Inspirations to see the gorgeous project she has designed for you.  Doris always comes up with something clever.

Happy Scrapping,

Taste of Summer – Cards

Standard

I have LOVED using the Taste of Summer Papers and Stamps throughout May.  Here is your final bit of inspiration from me for the month.  Each of these cards is a little different to my usual and were lots of fun to make.

Spin cards (Z1866) are available to purchase through my website. They are 7" x 5" and come in packs of 10. The grid on the strawberry card was inspired by a fellow blogger, laurenctmhcraftings.blogspot.com.au. It uses May's Stamp of the Month, Just Sayin' .

Taste of Summer – Triangle cards

Standard

Messing around with small pieces of paper can be fun.  Once again I have dived in to the offcuts in my Taste of Summer papers (CC1038).

Card & Envelope Value Packs (50 of each for just $20) make card making super easy. I've used White Daisy (X2540) here but you can also get Colonial white (X1410) if you prefer.

I began with 1 1/2″ squares cut in half diagonally and played around until I had some patterns I liked.  I cut my Shimmer Trim in half lengthways so it is a subtle accent and then decorated with stamped fruit and captions from the Taste of Summer stamp set (CC1039).  Bitty sparkles finished the designs off.

I used Post It notes to mask off segments of the titles and I used the Rock ‘n’ Roll inking technique for the fruit.

Have a play with your scraps and see what you come up with.

Ladybird, Ladybird…

Standard

One of the things I love best about being part of Close To My Heart is the open sharing of ideas between consultants across the globe.  Today’s little card was inspired by a lady who lives in Ohio, USA.  So, thank you Bobbi Frappier Dailey!  I adore ladybirds.

Ladybugs - Page 001

The ladybirds are made using the banner stamps from the Year Noted kit.  I embossed the Cranberry card using the Hearts embossing folder and the XOXO comes from January’s Stamp of the month.  I have this card as a kit for all my lovely ladies coming to Paper Picnic workshops this week 🙂

January's Stamp of the month. This Moment, is $27 or just $5 if accompanied by a $75 order. Available only until Jan 31, 2015

Here’s one I made using next month’s stamp of the month, A Happy Hello.  I made 5 of these to give as a Secret Sister gift in Hawaii. I stamped the twig, moved it slightly and stamped again without re-inking so it would look like the branch was moving a bit as the ladybirds walked along it.

In the spotlight…

Standard

Today I’d like to share the work of 3 of my customers.  They spent the day at our Paper Picnic on Saturday making cards.  I was so impressed I just had to share with you all.

Xmas cards

These Christmas cards were created by Sue Kennedy using her trusty Cricut and lots of Glitter Paper.  I love the simplicity of the cards – letting the shimmery goodness of the paper do all the work.  One technique Sue tried was stamping in Black Archival Ink onto the Glitter Paper – doesn’t it look great?  Glitter Paper is available in packs of 3.  Each pack features 3 shades of a colour.  Choose from Teal (Z1991), Purple (Z1992), Pink (Z1922), Green (Z1847), Brown & Tan (Z1830) or Black & Grey (Z1829).  Click here to see the range.

Bridget Jennings created these two cards using plain cardstock.  I love the fact you don’t have to have lots of decorative supplies to make awesome cards.  Once again, the shapes were mostly cut on the Cricut.  Sue and Bridget were inspired by cards they found on Pinterest.

My final spotlight shines on Sonja Jennings.  Sonja adapted a card I taught in November and she spent the day creating 38 invitations for her mum’s 80th birthday.  She was a machine!  I know her mum is going to be thrilled with them.  Click here to learn how she created the stamped feature.

Paper Picnics run for 6 1/2 hours on a Saturday.  My 2015 dates are Jan 17 & 31, Mar 7, May 16, Jun 20, Aug 22, Sep 19, Oct 24, Nov 21 and Dec 5.  Paper Picnics are held in Duncraig, West Australia.  You can bring along any project you are currently working on.  I teach a couple of Scrapbook layouts and a card at each picnic.  They are relaxed and full of fun. Email shaunnarichards@bigpond.com for further details.

Keep Smiling,

Shaunna

Last minute cards

Standard

I know as super women, balancing work and family,  we are also supposed to be organised well in advance for Christmas… BUT I know the reality of life means this doesn’t always happen.  As a paper crafter you know the value of hand made.  Today I’m sharing a little hand made card that can be whipped up in a few minutes.

PML Xmas Card

These two cards were made in a few minutes before breakfast!  Here’s what you need on hand for card emergencies…

I also have some bright PML packs for Birthday and Just Because card emergencies.
