Best part- you can see several different projects you can create with Close To My Heart’s These Are My People collection!   When you land back here, you are done and it’s time to hit the scrapbook room for some crafting fun.

The These Are My People collection includes a 12×12 Cut Above Kit, a paper pack, stickers, co-ordinating cardstock and a stamp set.  You can purchase items individually or as a bundle.  There is also a downloadable instruction handout filled with inspiration for 2 layouts, 2 single pages and 13 cards.  Be sure to save this handout so you can replicate the patterns over and over in different paper packs.  When you switch the papers, they will suit different people in your life. The handout is available until March 31, 2020 on the Promotions Tab of your consultant’s website.

Who are your people?

This collection is all about honouring the important people in your life. Who is missing from your scrapbooks? For me, it is my aunts and uncles that I wish to focus on for the layouts I’m making this month. I have very few layouts that include them as we live on opposite sides of the country.

These gorgeous people are my mum’s siblings. Together, they are a shining example of people who did not let their early life circumstances keep them down. They were funny, caring, loving and always supportive of each other. The three photos were taken over a 30 year period.

I plan for this to be the opening layout in a chapter all about them. Following layouts will focus on individuals and what they taught me about life in general and family in particular.

The journalling on this layout is an example of Story by Stacy Short Story. Following pages will use the Stories I love journalling style.

Create a bold page title

The title was created using Thin Cuts. I love the shape of the Stitched Bracket Thin cuts. The actual shapes were used in a kit project for my customers but the leftover strip was a perfect place to frame the letters created with Close To My Heart’s newest ABC/123 dies – Classic Alphabet Thin Cuts.

Cut the letters from scraps and stick to the layout. Then outline each letter with a black journalling pen. Work slowly and you will find it easy to follow the shape of the letter.

Add stamping to your printed paper

The soft peach spots on this print are lovely but did not provide enough contrast on the page. By adding a stamped flower to each spot a bolder look was created.

Stamped embellishments complete the layout

The bluebird chevron pattern is created by repeatedly stamping this small stamp. This creates a border to frame the photos on the layout. ‘Love these people‘ is the perfect phrase to use as a title and can also be found on the stamp set with this collection

Order your supplies this month

The These Are My People collection is only available to purchase for a limited time.  Order yours on your consultant’s website before April 30.  If you do not have a consultant, please visit my website for full details. A list of products used on my layout appears at the end of this post.

The Oh What Fun collection is availalbe to purchase until Dec 31, 2018. www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au

The Oh What Fun collection is available until the end of December 2018.  Buy it as a full kit or purchase individual items.

Today I’m using my December Craft with Heart Subscription Kit which features the Oh What Fun collection.  The backgrounds are all pre-printed so there is no cutting and gluing required until you add the smaller paper pieces (which are also pre-cut) and embellishments.  This makes a super-fast project.  The kit includes stickers and die-cuts too. The top photo is my layout and the lower one is the one shown in the printed instructions that come with the kit.

Craft with Heart subscriptions are availalbe for delivery within Australia at www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com

My photos had a different orientation for the RH page and I needed to fit a few more onto the layout so I tweaked it a bit by cutting the light green paper piece in half and added the pieces above and below the photos.  I also added a Flip Flap.

I do love a bit of bling and wanted to personalise the layout to my style. I added some Silver Glitter Gems and Silver Embellishing Thread around the title and journaling box.   The silver thread will stick to the back of the title sticker making it easier to form the swirls.  You will notice some pink sparkly gems too –they are silver ones coloured with the Cherry Pink Shin Han Marker.

Cats and Bats/Falling For You CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Australasian Cats & Bats/ Falling For You Blog Hop.  This hop features the artwork of some amazing and talented women from across Australia.
If you arrived from  Doris’ Blog  you are in the right place.  If this is your first time on a blog hop simply read on, enjoy my creations and maybe share some love in the comments. Then you click on the link at the end of this post and it will take you to the next blog and so on and so on. Easy and fun! Best part- you can see lots of different projects you can create with Close To My Heart’s Cats & Bats and Falling For You collections!   When you land back here, you are done and it’s time to hit the scrapbook room for some crafting fun.

The Cats & Bats and Falling For You collections are available until the end of December 2017.  Buy them as  full kits or purchase individual items.

Today I am sharing a layout from each of the featured collections.  It is the same layout – copied form p20, Pattern 8 of Make It From Your Heart Vol 3. First up is the one using Cats & Bats.  These photos were taken in a very English garden in Halifax, Canada.  The willow print paper was perfect for the background. I’m sorry it doesn’t show up well in this photo.

Scrapbook layout created using CTMH Cats & Bats papers and co-ordinating stamps & dies. View the full collection at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

That pretty border is made using the Scallop Border Thin Cuts (Z3348) – I love the way it softens the page.  The very cute row of blooms is made using the new Falling For You Scrapbook Stamps and co-ordinating Thin Cuts (Z4044).  Once you have stamped the images, pick up a little ink from the lid of the ink pad with your water brush and roughly colour the petals and leaves.  Don’t stress about perfection – the naïve style is ‘in’.

As always, there were more photos that needed to go on this layout.  Design 2 of the Pocket Plus Memory Protectors allowed for 3 extra photos and a journaling box. The 4″ x 6″ Flip Flap allowed room for an extra photo and more journaling.  I love that I can tell a really long story without compromising the beautiful design features of the layout.

CTMH Pocket Plus Protectors and Flip Flaps allowed me to use twice the photos on this one layout. Purchase yours at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

Next up, I repeated the same layout using the Falling For You collection and photos taken in a maple forest in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

The soft colours and delicate patterns from CTMH Falling For You collection paired with the Cardmaking Stamps and Thin Cuts made the perfect accompanianment for these forest photos. Purchase supplies at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

The leaves in the stamp and thin cuts from the Falling For You Cardmaking set are just gorgeous.  The fine detail in the stamps helps them look life like.  These leaves are symmetrical so you can use the light and the dark side of the Toffee cardstock to get some subtle variation in the leaves.  Goldrush and Fern ink pair perfectly with these papers and the bronze sequins add a highlight.  The title was stamp using the Colorblock Alphabet (D1729).

Once again, the layout needed extra photos added – Design 2 Pocket Plus Protector to the rescue!

Design 2 Pocket Plus Protector was used to add 4 extra photos to this scrapbook layout. purchase yours at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

Taste of Summer – Cards

Standard

I have LOVED using the Taste of Summer Papers and Stamps throughout May.  Here is your final bit of inspiration from me for the month.  Each of these cards is a little different to my usual and were lots of fun to make.

Spin cards (Z1866) are available to purchase through my website. They are 7" x 5" and come in packs of 10. The grid on the strawberry card was inspired by a fellow blogger, laurenctmhcraftings.blogspot.com.au. It uses May's Stamp of the Month, Just Sayin' .

Celebrate!

Standard

The first thing I thought of when I saw the Kaboom Stamp of the Month was fireworks.  For me fireworks mean New Years Eve celebrations.  We had a very quiet night in for New Year last year, watching a Robbie Williams concert and the telecast from Sydney leading up to their fireworks.  So, my only photos of the night are a dodgy selfie and a snap of the TV screen!

NYE

This layout is a copy of the one on page 15 of the Feb-Jul 2014 Ideas book.  I used Jubilee papers on my page.  Did you know we have a Recipe Book online where you can see a list of all the products used in a layout and find out what Cricut cartridges were used for each shape?  It even tells which page to find the shape on and what size to cut at.  Click here to view the booklet.  It’s in pdf format so you can save it to your computer or print it out.  I have mine printed and in a display folder.

I love combining stamps and cut outs to make interesting embellishment clusters like these.

The Bitty Sparkles (Z1263)added to the centre of the stamp adds a subtle touch of bling to the page.

The Kaboom Stamp of the Month is only available during June 2014.  You can order it for $24 (S1406) or take advantage of the discount offer of just $5 (S1406A) when you place an order of $75 or more.  Click here to place your order.
