I spent Mother’s Day hosting a baby shower!  Isn’t that perfect?  It was a wonderful way to spend this special day.  The mum to be and all her friends are from overseas and far from their mums and my own babes are living far from me so it made the day extra special.

Happy Times layout

This layout was inspired by pp26-27 of the Imagine How To Book.  It’s a layout we were challenged to use in a team virtual crop.  Using the beautiful zip strips from the Happy Times paper pack helped frame the photo gallery on the page.

Happy Times - Page 002
The flowers in the Happy Times Stamp set are really sweet.  I love that many different stems are offered too.  To create the large flowers shown above, ink with Honey first and then use a dauber to add Sunset ink accents to the blooms.  No two will be the same – just like in nature!  Poppy and Fern ink were used for the other flowers & leaves.

The words on this stamp set are perfect for scrapbookers.  Our goal is to record the happy times and to share real moments and memories with our family and future generations.

Happy Times Papers (CC1063) and the co-ordinating stamp set (CC1064) are only available during May, 2016.    Be sure to order yours from your Close To My Heart Consultant. You can have the paper packet FREE if you order $85 worth of product this month – that’s a saving of $23.
Thanks for stopping to read my post, now you can hop over to Wendy’s, Expressions from the Heart blog to see the Happy Times idea she is sharing.

Taste of Summer – Cards

Standard

I have LOVED using the Taste of Summer Papers and Stamps throughout May.  Here is your final bit of inspiration from me for the month.  Each of these cards is a little different to my usual and were lots of fun to make.

Spin cards (Z1866) are available to purchase through my website. They are 7" x 5" and come in packs of 10. The grid on the strawberry card was inspired by a fellow blogger, laurenctmhcraftings.blogspot.com.au. It uses May's Stamp of the Month, Just Sayin' .

Taste of Summer – Christmas Pages

Standard

A Christmas page without a Christmas print?  I love this fun layout of our breakfast in the park on Christmas morning.  It’s another layout I made using leftovers from my Taste of Summer paper pack.

The red frame is made of 2″ strips with corners mitred.  I used the yellow 1/4″ Washi Tape from the Carnival pack (Z3067) to give the illusion of a layer of yellow paper.

The border strip is 1 1/2

The strawberry border strip is 1 1/2″ wide with 1/2″ strip of yellow centred on it. I folded and cut the yellow to create bows and added a splash of green for the extra ribbons.

I used May's Stamp of the Month, 'Just Sayin' to create my flags. I stamped in Hollyhock ink onto the yellow and green printed papers. The strawberries were cut from one of the zip strips in the pack.

Taste of Summer – Seal of Approval

I love my customers!  Our annual Duchess Retreat is my opportunity to spoil them with inspiration, time to work on albums, no cooking, no cleaning, lots of girl time and some prezzies.  My sister is my straight man, side kick, go to girl and gopher throughout the weekend.

Over the course of the weekend customers and consultants ‘work’ together:
We laugh til our jaws hurt – usually over silly little things.
We help each other out – teaching scrapping tricks we’ve learnt along the way.
We stretch each other – trying new techniques and layouts which are sometimes out of our comfort zone.
And we go out of our way to positively affirm each other.

At the close of the weekend a ‘Crowning Ceremony’ is held.  When this finished this year my sister and I were presented with a gift and beautiful card each.  The cards were filled with beautiful words of thanks and our gifts were a royal seal each!!!!

The gorgeous Sue Kennedy presented the gifts which had been purchased by our delightful Alison Kirkwood.  As Sue was thanking us she remembered the cards!  We froze as she ran to find them and then enjoyed reading them and checking out our gifts.

Tammy Anderson caught it all on the camera and this page is a fun layout to remember how special I was made to feel by the ladies I was supposed to be spoiling.  Thankyou Duchies for my Royal seal.  I love it.

Taste of Summer papers (CC1038) and Stamp Set (CC1039) team perfectly with Canary, Cotton Candy and Pear cardstocl

The layout is simple.  3 strips 11″ x 3 1/2″.  Stamp in the same colour ink as the cardstock.  Have the images close together at the bottom.

Flip Flaps allow you to add extra photos without having to cover your pretty design elements.

The photo mats are 3″ x 4″ – you will want 9 of them. 3 go on the cardstock strips and the rest go inside 3″ x 4″ Flip Flaps(Z3037) with 3″ square photos mounted.  When you lift the flip flaps you see 6 more photos.

Have some fun with this layout – it’s great for all sorts of photo sequences. Remember the Taste of Summer collection is only available this month.  Visit http://www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au to place your order.

Taste of Summer – Triangle cards

Standard

Messing around with small pieces of paper can be fun.  Once again I have dived in to the offcuts in my Taste of Summer papers (CC1038).

Card & Envelope Value Packs (50 of each for just $20) make card making super easy. I've used White Daisy (X2540) here but you can also get Colonial white (X1410) if you prefer.

I began with 1 1/2″ squares cut in half diagonally and played around until I had some patterns I liked.  I cut my Shimmer Trim in half lengthways so it is a subtle accent and then decorated with stamped fruit and captions from the Taste of Summer stamp set (CC1039).  Bitty sparkles finished the designs off.

I used Post It notes to mask off segments of the titles and I used the Rock ‘n’ Roll inking technique for the fruit.

Have a play with your scraps and see what you come up with.

Taste of Summer – Debs & Duchies

Standard

This layout gave me the opportunity to use up lots of the scraps from my Taste Of Summer papers (CC1038).

Group shots featuring a large number of people deserve being enlarged - especially when it's a dress up shot and we want to honour the creations everyone took time to put together.

I began with a Cricut overlay from the Artbooking Cartridge. I cut an 11" square overlay and trimmed it down to fit the space.

I began with a Cricut overlay from the Artbooking Cartridge. I cut an 11″ square overlay and trimmed it down to fit the space. Then I added a bit to the side to make it cover the 12″ width of the page

I randomly punched circles from all my scraps and placed them face down on the back of the overlay. My goal was to have no adjoining spaces covered in the same paper. It was quite easy because there are 6 designs in the Taste of Summer pack. I glued all of these in place with my Bonding Memories glue.

My journaling box was a 3" x4" piece of white cardstock with a strip of scrap paper down the side and a strip of 1/4 Boardwalk Washi tape(Z3066). The Wavy Blooms (D1651) flowers were stamped on white daisy and fusty cut.

The page was finished off with the Lemons Zip strip from one of the papers and a Cricut cut title.  I made the title in Cricut Craftroom so I could weld the letters together.
