The Taste of Summer Papers are so bright and cheerful I just had to use them with my photos from this year’s Duchess Retreat.  Friday night is ‘Frock Night’ at the ‘Duchess Do’ and this year we had some awesome frocks on display.  Op shops were scoured, Nanna’s closet was raided and some even found their outfits lurking in their own wardrobes!!!

I felt I needed to honour each of our Debutantes and Duchies by displaying individual photos.

Team CTMH Taste of Summer Papers and Stamp set with Make It From your Heart Vol 1 & Wavy Blooms stamps for a fun layout.

I began with Layout 1 from Make It From Your Heart Vol 1. This is a super easy layout.  Just trim your photos to 2 1/2″ and off you go.  The pattern has photos trimmed shorter than mine but it was easy to adapt.

Wavy Blooms (D1651) is a gorgeous stamp set. All I did was stamp in black ink on the patterned papers and cut around them.

The Taste of Summer Stamp Set (CC1039) has gorgeous images and titles. It is just $27 and only available during May 2015

This month’s stamp set is the whimsical, Circus Alphabet – a great accompaniment for any scrapbook page.

NSDThis is the first page of several about our National Scrapbook Day so I wanted the title to be really bold.  I cut the white letters on my Cricut and then stamped the same letter randomly over each.

The Circus Alphabet Stamp of the Month is only available during the month of July.  Full retail price is $24 (S1407) but why pay that much when you can get it for just $5 with a $75 order?

My clever team

Standard

My team of consultants, known as the Dazzling Duchesses, get together once a month with consultants from another team to share creative ideas.  We participate in a 10 for 10 Swap.  Each of us brings 10 of the same thing ( a card, page, border or embellishment) and swap them for items made by others.  I find having a collection of samples to share with you, my lovely customer, is so helpful because our teams have great ideas that they teach me and I can pass on to you.

NSD swap

The cards and borders pictured above all feature the Free To Be Me papers that are our promotional item this month in celebration of National Scrapbook Day.  Don’t you just love the versatility of them?  Savannah couldn’t be at the meeting but she has a blog today showing awesome pages and cards she’s made recently.  Click here to take a look!

If you are registered for National Scrapbook Day we’ll be sharing lots of ideas for using these papers on your pages and cards.  Not registered? My event is open to all my customers and members of the Dazzling Duchess team.  It’s held from 10 to 5 on May 17 in Kinglsey.  Registrations close in a week.  Book your place now by visiting www.directepay.com.au and entering the reference number 92742279.  Your $55 registration includes morning tea, lunch, How To demonstrations, and gifts a plenty along with lots of laughs and the fellowship of like minded women.

Hope to see you there!

The feathers you can see on this page are actually a stamp set.  It’s called… you guessed it, Feathers! (C1584) Take a look at it here.  I’ve teamed it up with another stamp set, Flight of arrows (D1578) to make the card shown below.  Imagine this as a longer strip and you have a perfect page border.  I think these two stamp sets are must haves in your box of tricks – you will find so many ways to use them I’m sure.

Before I joined Close To My Heart I hardly ever stamped.  I have learnt so many cool techniques to use with my stamps and I LOVE it in my albums.  I can have an embellishment in ANY colour I want and unlike stickers, I NEVER run out of my favourites.  If you haven’t given it a go, National Scrapbook Day is a good time to try – I promise your pages & cards will look awesome.
