Today’s layout celebrates the two loves in my daughter’s life – her gorgeous man and her cat!  Penelope is a perfect match for Kathryn’s vibrant personality.

Penelope Blog Hop

I love the look of pages with a solid colour as a border but I don’t always want the bulk of a second layer of cardstock.  Thank heavens for the 1/4″ rolls of Limeade Washi Tape (Z3198) that comes in the Penelope Workshop Your Way Kit.  It is super easy to frame your page this way.

Penelope Title

The Penelope Complements(X7207C) are just lovely.  The titles can be used twice!  Use the stickers on one layout and the negative space on another.  Complements are also part of the Workshop Your Way Kit.

Penelope Flags

If you have ‘flat’ spots on your layout, reach for your scraps.  This cluster of flags was made from the offcuts left in the pack.  The heart vellum is one of the die-cuts in the Complements pack and that really cute starburst is from Playful Puffies (Z3205).  Puffies are raised a little bit but they are spongy so ideal for use in your albums.  They also come in the Workshop Your Way kit.

Do you like the journal boxes on this layout?  They are the PML cards that come in the paper pack.  All you have to do is cut them out and stick them down – it couldn’t be simpler.

The Penelope Workshop Your Way kit suits any photo theme. They are only available until the end of April, 2016.   Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Don’t you just want to smile when you see these stamps?

We have a beautiful wetlands near our home which we walk in several mornings a week.  Late spring is such a fabulous time to visit as the Rainbow Bee Eaters come to nest.  They are only 20cm long and they nest in burrows in the ground!  I’ve been saving these photos to use with this stamp set.  I hope you like it.  The Penelope Papers provide a happy backdrop.

Mar 2016 SOTM layout

Each photo mount on the string is 3″ x 4″.  All the photo mounts on the page have been ‘wrapped’ in a 1/4″ border of Washi Tape.  I love this wide green tape from the Limeade Pack (Z3198)  I found the speediest way to use it was to stick it to two cards at a time, cut them apart and fold the excess to the back.  Glacier Thick Twine (Z3029) threaded nicely through the 1/8″ holes in the cards.

The top border had some pattern added courtesy of the CTMH Corner Rounder (Z1912).  If you slide the lower plastic guide off you can use it as a scallop punch.  I spaced mine out to make it look like blades of grass for the butterflies to rest on.  Use the markings on your Versamat to make the spaces even.

Sunshine Birdies (S1603) is only available during March, 2016.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Share the Love Stamp Set

Mike and I had the great pleasure of attending an evening of A capella singing by 3 university groups.  Our nephew came from Melbourne with his group – it was the first time we’d heard him sing and it was wonderful.  As I looked around the packed room, filled with people of all ages, focused on young adults singing joyfully and having the time of their lives, I was reassured that there are still plenty of young people who are amazing.  The media has it wrong when they spread their doom and gloom stories – the youth of today do share our values… we just need to give them the vehicle to exhibit it in.  So, this stamp set was perfect for the photos!  They did make me smile – all night and all of the next day.

This is a pretty simple layout.  One tip is to decide your photo placement before you stamp.  You can mark the spaces with pencil and then you don’t have to stamp over the entire page.

My second tip is don’t cut the paper before you stamp – my cameras didn’t line up where the two pages meet and that bothers me a little. (But not enough to make me re-do the page!)

Once you have all the photos and journal box stuck down add a couple of stamped images on foam tape so they pop off the page across other elements.

I also had fun making cards and a gift box with this stamp set.  I designed 3 cards and made them up in Charlotte, Penelope and Regatta.  The cards are super easy to make and I can’t wait to gift the whole set to a friend for her birthday.

The Share The Love (CC1060) stamp set is only available during February, 2016. $7 from each set sold will be donated to Operation Smile – isn’t that a beautiful way for you to share the love a little further?  Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.
