CTMH Silver & Gold Workshop Your Way is perfect for Christmas Market photos Who can resist a bit of bling?
Today I am sharing a layout featuring photos from our time at the Nurnberg Christmas Markets last year.  If you ever have the opportunity to visit, GO!!!  It’s a sensory overload of Christmas goodness.  Be sure to take an empty suitcase with you so you can shop to your heart’s content.

CTMH Silver & Gold Workshop Your Way is perfect for Christmas Market photos Add Flip Flaps so you can include ALL the photos you take.

The layout is based in Pattern 24 in Make It From Your Heart, Vol 3.  I added the Poppy photo mats because they helped my photos stand out on the page.  Using 4″ x 6″ Flip Flaps on the RH page gave me space for 4 extra photos.  No need for a second layout now.

CTMH Silver & Gold Workshop Your Way is perfect for Christmas Market photos Who can resist a bit of shimmer trim?

All the stickers on the layout come from the Complements pack.  These were left over once I’d complete the 3 layouts that come with the kit.  Shimmer trim and gold dots helped my title pop on the page and the White & Gold twine blended perfectly with the collection.

CTMH Silver & Gold Workshop Your Way is perfect for Christmas Market photos Make your journal box an integral part of the page design.

Using the Cut Apart PML cards that come with the kit is the easiest way to incorporate smaller patterned pieces into your layout.  This element makes the journaling an integral part of the overall design.  I’m a firm believer in telling the story and leaving enough room for some details.

The Silver & Gold collection is available to purchase from your Close To My Heart consultant.  A list of products used in my projects appears at the end of this post.  Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you can order online through my website .

Australasian April SOTM Life In Pictures Blog Hop

Blog Badge

Welcome to the April Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from  Vandra’s Blog, you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Life In Pictures (S1604) stamp set which is April’s Stamp of the Month.

I think everyone of us needs this set in our craft room.

Our fridge door photo gallery was looking very tired.  Mismatched magnets holding photos and covering some of the image, fingerprints and smears on some photos and no sense of how important the photos are to us.  So!  I created my own magnetic fridge frames.

Life in pictures - Page 002

Use Paper Fundamentals because the paper is decorative and heavy weight so it won’t curl or tear easily.  Cut a piece 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ and cut a 4 1/4″ slit 3/4″ down from one short end.  Use the measurement guides on your 12″ trimmer to make this easy.

Life in pictures fridge frames - Page 001

Take a 4″ x 6″ Flip Flap (Z4114) and trim off the adhesive strip.  You want the side that had the adhesive strip to be higher than the other side of the pocket.

Life in pictures fridge frames - Page 002

Centre the flip flp on the front of the Fundamentals Paper, making sure the lower edge side of the Flip Flap is glued to the paper and that this edge lines up with the slit you cut.

Slide your photo into the Flip Flap.  Use Shimmer Trim around the edges of the Flip Flap to hold it in place and highlight your photo.  Add decorative elements as desired.  Corner round the frame if that takes your fancy.

When you want to update your photos you can slide the orignal out and replace it with a new one.

In these samples, watercolour paint was used on watercolour paper.   The paint was allowed to dry and then the images were stamped using Memento Black ink (Z899) for all the sentiments and some of the cameras.   Other cameras were stamped first and then painted with a watercolour wash afterwards.  Each gives a slightly different effect.

Your last task is to recycle those magnets you were using and stick them to the back of your frame.  Liquid Glass (Z679) is perfect for the job!

Super easy and lots of fun.  This would make a great holiday project to do with the kids.  Why not make a set for a Mothers Day Gift?

Life In Pictures (S1604) is only available during April, 2016.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Did you like this idea? I’d love you to leave a comment for me before you leave.

I love the positive words and the font used for them.  This was a very happy evening with my ‘neice’ – you know the ones you aren’t related too but they feel as close as family.  I chose these photos for the today’s blog hop because these girlies have gorgeous smiles and we take that a bit for granted.

I’ve used the Heartstrings Workshop on the Go Stamps (G1090), Heartstrings Papers (X7193B) and Heartstrings Complements (X7193C) on my layout.  It’s such a great pack for wedding related pages.

The beautiful doily frame was cut using the Artiste Cricut Cartridge (Z1790).  I also added a bit of our new white shimmer trim either side of the zip strip accents.  This layout was inspired by the Crystal Ball Layout in the Magic How To Book (9040).

All it takes to correct one cleft lip or cleft palette in a third worl country is $275 AU donated to Operation Smile.  I hope you will support this valuable program by purchasing the You’re the Bomb (C1617)stamp set.  Visit your consultant’s website to place your order.

It’s time to think about Christmas Cards

Yes!  It’s only 11 weeks until Christmas so let’s make sure that resolution to actually SEND some cards this year is met.  I don’t send 50-60 cards like I used to but there are a dozen or so really special friends who deserve a card each year.  The Snowhaven Cardmaking Kit was perfect for me this year.  The kit makes 15 beautifully hand crafted cards in an afternoon or evening.  You make 5 cards each of 3 designs.  Mine have been done since mid-August.  Guess how good that feels!

Artistic Adventure Begins

It was so exciting to be part of the North American CTMH Convention in June.  The stage looked gorgeous and changed each day.  Mandy & I were able to have a quick photo on it the first day.  I wanted a simple layout for these photos as it marks the beginning of the Convention chapter in my album.

Artistic Adventure

The focus is on the Paper Fundamentals range in all my classes this month and this page features the Adventure Assortment (Z2032) of these papers.  I just love the happy colours in it and chose Lagoon, Honey, Sunset and Crystal Blue for the layout.  Crystal Blue is in the Whimsy pack… it just snuck onto the page and had to stay!  You will find the pattern and instructions for this page in Make It From Your Heart, Vol 2: Pattern 4 (Left page)

Artisitc Adventure - Page 003

I wanted the embellishments to be ‘soft’ for this layout.  The Brushed Complements (X7190C) were perfect.  Not only did the colours work with the photos and cardstock, but the stickers are actually vellum so they blended nicely on the page.  When I wanted them to stand out a bit more, I layered them on White Daisy Cardstock and fussy cut around them.

Artisitc Adventure - Page 002

I was making this page at a consultant crop event and one of the ladies said, “It’s a shame we don’t have Green Shimmer Trim.”  I thought about the fact we can colour clear sparkles with our Alcohol markers and wondered aloud if we could do the same to Silver Shimmer Trim.  The answer is “YES”.  That led to some playing and all 3 of these shimmer trims are  silver, coloured with alcohol markers.  Neat isn’t it?

My tips would be to press lightly using the chisel tip end of the markers and go over it more than once.  Blot off excess ink with a scrap of paper before placing on your page.  Run your pen on scrap paper to be sure no specks of glitter are caught in it’s fibres.

Duchess Retreat Page

I had the great pleasure of running my 12th Annual Duchess Retreat for 24 ladies this past weekend.  My sister runs it with me and we treasure this time together. We proclaimed ourselves Duchesses 12 years ago when we decided our camp would be based on a series of challenges, like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards.  The challenges can be simple but there are always a couple that stretch croppers skills just a little (or a lot if you ask some!).

I look forward to this weekend of creating, laughter and hijinks as much as my customers and team members do and always arrive home on a high, love cup overflowing and so thankful to have such fabulous women in my life.

This year my good friend, Rose, was our chef and we enjoyed homemade gourmet treats all weekend.  Friday night is always Frock Night and the ladies excelled this year, scouring op shops across Australia for frocks with just the right level of hilarity.

I kept the layout simple so the Duchess outfits could shine.  You will notice 2 products that aren’t in the current ideas book.  The Better with a Friend Stamp Set is in our NEW Ideas Book launching August 1 and is one of the Exclusive Hostess Rewards stamps.  These glamorous gals are coloured using the blending pen (3174) and Exclusive Inks.  I’d love to show you how.  Why not invite a few friends over for a free class to play with this set and then you can purchase this stamp set with your Hostess Reward dollars.

The other new product on the page is the Chevron Border Punch (Z1998).  This was a firm favourite over the weekend.  A strip of shimmer trim behind it really adds some zing to the page. Click here to see all the shimmer trim colours available. Be sure to check out my website on August 1 to view the online Ideas Book & Catalogue.

If you would like to see the range of new products, we’d welcome your attendance at our Perth New Product Launch and crafty afternoon this coming Saturday.  Comment below or contact me for address details.  You are most welcome to bring a friend.
