This Face, These Hands

Standard

It’s Father’s Day in Australia on Sunday.  My darling Dad passed away 8 years ago but I wanted to honour him here today.  This is a layout from the vault, made just a few days after his death.  Scrapbooking really is my therapy and making pages of this gorgeous man helped me get through those first hard weeks without him.

My darling dad

I don’t have anything clever to teach you in terms of stamps, embellishments or whizz bang tools. My offering here is what I believe to be the foundation of any scrapbook page – the story behind the image.

This is the face

Keep the tissues handy as you work – you’ll need them.  See the smudge on the photo above?  I’d printed it at home and then cried on it!!!  Ah well, keeps it real 🙂

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads making their little girls (and big girls) feel loved,

Super fast page with PML cards

Standard

This is the first time I’ve used Picture My Life (PML)cards.  I saw beautiful pages made with them at the US Convention but today I wanted something quick and easy to share with you.

Each of the 13 CTMH Picture My Life collections include 44 double sided 4″x6″ cards; 78 double sided 3″x4″ cards; 1 Designed cover sheet and 10 Memory Protectors.  This is a sample of the cards in the Chantilly PML kit (Z1949).

Picture My Life Chantilly

PML cards are designed to be used for pocket style scrapbooking but in today’s post I’ve used a few on a traditional scrapbook page.

Disney Merch

This was a super fast page to make.  I used the NEW Paper Fundamentals cardstock for my background and chose cards from the Chantilly PML pack(Z1949).  The wand was printed on one of the cards.  I cut around it and added some Bitty Sparkles (Z1263)and I had a cute embellishment.  The journal box was pre-decorated too – I added the tiny strip of Pink Shimmer Trim  (Z1986) and  the words.  That’s it!  No photo mounts.  Super quick, fun and doable.

Please don’t think I didn’t like Disneyland when you read my journaling – I did enjoy my time there but I was a little overcome by all the merchandising.  I try to include the good and the bad in my albums!

Check out the full range of PML kits by clicking here.  We are in the final few days of our special promotion for this range.  For each PML kit you order in August, you get to choose an extra pack of Memory Protectors for just $4.  That’s a saving of $9.  Click here to go shopping.

Super Simple Page

Standard

Needing to clear some photo backlog?  Time to revert to simple pages.  Just two colours, in this case Cranberry and Bamboo.  Daub the edges in the same coloured inks for a subtle edge highlight.  Add a caption to each photo.  Cut a decorative title on your Cricut or use some ABC stickers. Done!  Next page…
