Aren’t they the cutest little bunnies?  You can colour the bunnies or paper piece their clothes for a bit of fun.   My favourite sentiment on this set is “ There’s nobunny like you”.  How lovely would it be on a page about one of your family members or friends?

s1702-easter-bunny-layout

Today’s layout design is one of my Go To Basics that I use when I only have landscape photos.  Strips top and bottom vary from 1/2″ to 1″ and usually come from my off-cuts stash.  I didn’t have enough photos for 2 pages of either event and decided to combine them.  The Cut Apart journal boxes and PML cards from Some Kinda Wonderful (X7217B) create a division to help the reader identify the photos as separate experiences.

It is lots of fun to make your bunny’s outfits match your photos.  The edges of the journal box were inked by running the edge of the paper across the top of the Willow ink pad. The little stamped flower border comes in the set too.  Just repeat it across the 2 pages and colour as desired.

You will find a list of the products used on the layout at the end of this post.

Easter Bunny (S1702) is only available during February, 2017.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant.

Perr-fect Halloween

I love this set because it has a cat on it – I will be sure to use it with photos of my gorgeous fur baby, Sandy.  Today however, I want to share a layout that has nothing to do with cats or Halloween. I love to take a themed stamp set and turn it into something different so I had a really good look at all the gorgeous small stamps in this set.  Here’s what I came up with as I played one night.SOTM 0816 - Page 002

I can see so many possibilities using these small stamps as accents and borders on your pages.  Here’s how I used a few of them.

SOTM 0816 page

It’s a very simple layout because the photos are quite busy.  I have used two of Close To My Heart’s NEW cardstock colours, Tangerine (X5786) and Sea Glass (X5789) along with one of the totally delicious sheets the NEW All About the Gold Fundamentals (Z3246).  These are 12″ x 12″ clear overlays with gold foil designs – so pretty!  Hold them in place with micro glue dots (Z2089).

SOTM 0816 - Page 001

The pretty frame in Purr-fect Halloween made a purr-fect title box when I heat embossed it with gold powder and stamped using the NEW Pen Pal Alphabet (B1539)

Did you spot those cat eyes used as a frame for my journaling?  Check out the lovely black ribbon too – it has pretty gold threads on the edges and is part of the 3 roll set of NEW ribbons called Uptown Ribbon Pack (Z3289).  These are sure to become your go to ribbons this year.

Purr-fect Halloween (S1608) is only available during August, 2016.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

This is such a versatile set.  You can stamp on coloured papers in black ink or stamp on white cardstock and colour in.  The images work with Shin Hans, Watercolour Pencils and Watercolour Paints.  We all have photos of high teas, weddings, birthdays and anniversaries that will look fab with this set of stamps.  Cards for all those celebrations will also be a breeze.  Enjoy the hop for some inspiration.

May sotm

So where is the cake????  You know I always try to look past the obvious with a new stamp set!  This page is nothing to do with a birthday or wedding.  It’s me making goodies to give to my ladies at Duchess Retreat last year.  I love any stamps that have a textural element so this little square caught my eye.

Choose 7 ink colours and stamp the frame on an 11 3/4″ square of White Daisy cardstock.  Add a 9″ Crystal Blue square for the photo mount and use Silver Foil Tape (Z3130) as a highlight.  Mount it all on Hollyhock Cardstock.

Tip:  If you want to make a matching page for the other side of the layout cut a 9″ square from the centre of the Crystal Blue and Hollyhock.  Then alternate the colours on the second page.

Add bling to match the ink colours.

The banner from the stamp set makes a perfect mini journal box.

s1604

I think everyone of us needs this set in our craft room.

Our fridge door photo gallery was looking very tired.  Mismatched magnets holding photos and covering some of the image, fingerprints and smears on some photos and no sense of how important the photos are to us.  So!  I created my own magnetic fridge frames.

Life in pictures - Page 002

Use Paper Fundamentals because the paper is decorative and heavy weight so it won’t curl or tear easily.  Cut a piece 5 1/2″ x 7 1/2″ and cut a 4 1/4″ slit 3/4″ down from one short end.  Use the measurement guides on your 12″ trimmer to make this easy.

Life in pictures fridge frames - Page 001

Take a 4″ x 6″ Flip Flap (Z4114) and trim off the adhesive strip.  You want the side that had the adhesive strip to be higher than the other side of the pocket.

Life in pictures fridge frames - Page 002

Centre the flip flp on the front of the Fundamentals Paper, making sure the lower edge side of the Flip Flap is glued to the paper and that this edge lines up with the slit you cut.

Slide your photo into the Flip Flap.  Use Shimmer Trim around the edges of the Flip Flap to hold it in place and highlight your photo.  Add decorative elements as desired.  Corner round the frame if that takes your fancy.

When you want to update your photos you can slide the orignal out and replace it with a new one.

Life in pictures fridge frames - Page 007

In these samples, watercolour paint was used on watercolour paper.   The paint was allowed to dry and then the images were stamped using Memento Black ink (Z899) for all the sentiments and some of the cameras.   Other cameras were stamped first and then painted with a watercolour wash afterwards.  Each gives a slightly different effect.

Your last task is to recycle those magnets you were using and stick them to the back of your frame.  Liquid Glass (Z679) is perfect for the job!

Life in pictures - Page 001

Super easy and lots of fun.  This would make a great holiday project to do with the kids.  Why not make a set for a Mothers Day Gift?

Life In Pictures (S1604) is only available during April, 2016.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

We don’t have grandchildren yet but we have a very adorable grand- fur ball named Luna.  Her mummy and daddy flood our Facebook with cute photos and she even has an Instagram account of her own.  Check it out @luna_the_calico.  I decided to do some pages using some of these photos.  These 2 stamp sets were perfect for the job.

Friendly Pets (B14841)

Today’s layout comes from p110 of the Cherish How To Book.  It’s a clean design suited to the Fundamentals Paper range.  This layout uses Basics and Adventure Fundamentals.

Luna

stampaganzaBegin with these cute cats.  Using scraps of White Daisy stamp just the head of the cat from Friendly Pets (B1481) 15 times.  Using Shin Han markers, try to make them look like calico cats – that’s the new name for tortoiseshell puddies.  Did you know they are all girls?  Next you need to fussy cut these images.

Calico Cats

Don’t you love those inquisitive little faces?  Have some fun with these cheeky fur babies popping up on all sides of the squares.

stampapaganza - Page 002

This little cat is super cute. The colouring was so easy because a calico cat has a very random coat colouration – anything works!

The sentiments all come from Love My Cat (A1181) and the hearts are from the Black Fundamental Assortments (Z3104)

Stampaganza runs until March 31. Order all 3 stamps you want and the one with the lowest price will be given to you at no charge. Order 6 stamps and the 2 lowest price ones will be given to you.  Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Don’t you just want to smile when you see these stamps?

We have a beautiful wetlands near our home which we walk in several mornings a week.  Late spring is such a fabulous time to visit as the Rainbow Bee Eaters come to nest.  They are only 20cm long and they nest in burrows in the ground!  I’ve been saving these photos to use with this stamp set.  I hope you like it.  The Penelope Papers provide a happy backdrop.

Mar 2016 SOTM layout

Each photo mount on the string is 3″ x 4″.  All the photo mounts on the page have been ‘wrapped’ in a 1/4″ border of Washi Tape.  I love this wide green tape from the Limeade Pack (Z3198)  I found the speediest way to use it was to stick it to two cards at a time, cut them apart and fold the excess to the back.  Glacier Thick Twine (Z3029) threaded nicely through the 1/8″ holes in the cards.

The top border had some pattern added courtesy of the CTMH Corner Rounder (Z1912).  If you slide the lower plastic guide off you can use it as a scallop punch.  I spaced mine out to make it look like blades of grass for the butterflies to rest on.  Use the markings on your Versamat to make the spaces even.

Sunshine Birdies (S1603) is only available during March, 2016.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Share the Love Stamp Set

Mike and I had the great pleasure of attending an evening of A capella singing by 3 university groups.  Our nephew came from Melbourne with his group – it was the first time we’d heard him sing and it was wonderful.  As I looked around the packed room, filled with people of all ages, focused on young adults singing joyfully and having the time of their lives, I was reassured that there are still plenty of young people who are amazing.  The media has it wrong when they spread their doom and gloom stories – the youth of today do share our values… we just need to give them the vehicle to exhibit it in.  So, this stamp set was perfect for the photos!  They did make me smile – all night and all of the next day.

Mar 20

This is a pretty simple layout.  One tip is to decide your photo placement before you stamp.  You can mark the spaces with pencil and then you don’t have to stamp over the entire page.

My second tip is don’t cut the paper before you stamp – my cameras didn’t line up where the two pages meet and that bothers me a little. (But not enough to make me re-do the page!)

Mar 20 b

Once you have all the photos and journal box stuck down add a couple of stamped images on foam tape so they pop off the page across other elements.

I also had fun making cards and a gift box with this stamp set.  I designed 3 cards and made them up in Charlotte, Penelope and Regatta.  The cards are super easy to make and I can’t wait to gift the whole set to a friend for her birthday.

Share the love FR - Page 004

The Share The Love (CC1060) stamp set is only available during February, 2016. $7 from each set sold will be donated to Operation Smile – isn’t that a beautiful way for you to share the love a little further?  Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.
