Welcome to the CTMH Australasian Chelsea Gardens Blog Hop. This hop features the artwork of some amazing and talented women from across Australia. If you arrived from Maz’s blog you are in the right place. If this is your first time on a blog hop simply read on, enjoy my creations and maybe share some love in the comments. Then you click on the link at the end of this post and it will take you to the next blog and so on and so on. Easy and fun! Best part- you can see lots of different projects you can create with Close To My Heart’s Chelsea Gardens collection! When you land back here, you are done and it’s time to hit the craft room for some paperific fun.

The Chelsea Gardens collection is available until the end of April, 2018.  You have the choice of 2 kits – one for scrapbooking and one for cards – OR you can purchase papers, complements, ribbon  and gems separately

Today I am sharing 3 cards and a layout created from the Sending Hugs Cardmaking Kit.

This is one of the 2 card designs featured in the kit.  You receive printed instructions with your kit that detail cutting, placement, stamping and embellishment information.  The kit has enough supplies to make 12 cards.

The Sending Hugs Cardmaking Kit (G1150) from Close To My Heart makes 12 cards with leftover supplies for some scrapbook pages. Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au
The original design uses Heather ink for the wreath but I wanted to make it more colourful so I stamped in Sweetleaf ink.  Then I coloured the centres of each flower with the ocean watercolour pencil and blended it using the Clear Shimmer Brush.  I also added shimmer to the printed flowers and blooms on the background paper.  It is soooo pretty!  The next photos shows a bit of the sparkle.

Next up I swapped out the ink colours and used the Welcome Baby sentiment from the For You Darling stamp set.  I also used part of the border stamp that comes with the Sending Hugs kit to decorate the edges of the wreath element.

For the third variation, I made the card portrait and dropped the striped piece lower.  I used the border stamp to create my own design on the white cardstock and then used the small flower and leaves from the stamp set to create my own decorative element.

The leaves were coloured with Citrus Leaf watercolour pencil and the flowers were simply filled in using the NEW Bashful Shimmer Brush.  I used masking on my stamping and fussy cut the grouped images.

I decided to use this card design to make a layout too.  It was super easy – I just extended each piece to be 12″ long.

I wanted to pick up on the pink in the photographed flowers so I used the Bashful Shimmer Brush to colour the white flowers on the floral print.  The floral wreath provide space for a title.  Pen Pal Alphabet stamps are only 1/4″ high and worked perfectly for the small space.

Every layout needs journaling.  These photos were all from the same weekend but not all taken at the same time or event so I numbered the photos and bullet point journaled to give the information about them.  I wrote the wrong name for the hotel so just stuck a correction over the top of it – it’s not perfect but you really don’t notice it when looking at the full layout.

S1801 Bloom & Grow SOTM Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to the January, 2018 Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. This is a circular hop. If you arrived from Maz’s blog, you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it. Keep reading and hopping until you find yourself back where you started from. Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Bloom & Grow (S1801) stamp set which is January’s Stamp of the Month.

CTMH Stamp of the Month for Jan, 2018 is Bloom & Grow (S1801). Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au.

The garden themed icons and sentiments are just beautiful.  I can think of so many pages and cards where these sayings will be perfect.  My layout today features photos of a busy bee held at mum’s nursing home recently.  It was a great day of community building and engagement for residents and their families.

CTMH Stamp of the Month for Jan, 2018 is Bloom & Grow (S1801) with Love Letters flowers and alphabet on Chlesea Gardens paper. Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au.
This layout is based on Pattern 10 in Make It From Your Heart, Vol 3.  The new Chelsea Gardens papers work beautifully with the Bloom & Grow stamp set.  Left over flowers and a banner from my Love Letters Kit finished it off nicely.

S1801 details - Page 003It’s hard to see in the photo but these flowers from the Love Letters kit are grey with a white spot.  I wanted something brighter so I applied ink using  sponge daubers.

CTMH Love Letters are available Jan 2018 only. Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au.

The alphabet stickers from the Love Letters Kit can be a bit tricky to line up.  I experimented with a few different techniques and found this one easiest.  The blue line is washi tape and it is stuck to an all-purpose mat.  Using tweezers, arrange letters with an overlap of the tails.

S1801 details - Page 002

Press each join firmly and then use your tweezers to gently lift the word off the mat and onto your banner.  The super fine tip of Close To My Heart tweezers make it easy to slide them under each letter and see what you are doing.

Ask your consultant about the Love Letters promotion this month. There is so much goodness in one kit – you will make the letter and have left overs for layouts and cards.

CTMH Stamp of the Month for Jan, 2018 is Bloom & Grow (S1801). Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au.

The tiny leaves and flower in the stamp set are perfect for creating a stamped background.  The flower is a base & shade pair – the base is solid and then the outline goes on top.  Focus on lining up the flower centre for best results.  Before you start stamping, mark where your photos and title will go so you don’t have to stamp that area.

Bloom & Grow (S1801) is available to purchase for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order during January, 2017. It can also be purchased for $27 as a single item. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you are welcome to visit my website to place an order.

Thanks for joining us today. I hope it’s the start of an awesome year of crafty goodness for you. I’d love you to leave a comment for me before you click on the underlined link and move on to Kara’s Blog, Creating with Kara Davies, to see what she has designed for you.

Welcome to the October, 2017 Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from Maz’s blog, you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and hopping until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Christmas Tunes(S1710) stamp set which is October’s Stamp of the Month.CTMH Stamp of the Month Christmas Tunes (S1710) is availalbe during October, 2017 at www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au

Like so many of you, I am a Christmas tragic.  I pin ideas for decorations and projects all year, I have made my own Christmas cards for decades and my collection of ornaments grow every year – I even bring them home from overseas travel!  A long held tradition in our family is watching the Melbourne Carols by Candlelight each Christmas Eve – mostly on TV but a few times we’ve been there in person.  This stamp set immediately puts me in that place – surrounded by smiling faces, candles glowing and amazing performers.

My offering today is inspiration for Christmas cards you can make in October so you are super organised 😊 I know we all have different amounts of crafting time and some of us like a clean and classic look while others like lots of bling – a bit like the frocks the performers wear at the Carols!

I have taken a classic card design for each stamp and made it twice – the first is quick and easy to make and the second is a little fancier.  You can choose the one that suits your style and available time the best.  Or you could give the fancy ones to friends who will appreciate your hard work and the simpler ones to those who may not. 😊

First up we have ‘O Holy Night’.  Cranberry & New England Ivy inks team nicely with the Beary Christmas paper.

Quick and easy version – stamp all 3 components on the same piece of cardstock.  Trim an even-ish curve around the wreath.

Fancy Version – Stamp each component separately and fussy cut to highlight all the details.  Pop elements up on foam tape.  Add Gold Shimmer Pen to bow and holly leaves.  Add Red Gems.  The extra layer of White Daisy cardstock helps the image pop.

Christmas Tunes Stamp of the Month for October 2017 - such a fun set to own. Plain or fancy? Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

Next we have ‘White Christmas’.  Raspberry ink & cardstock create a fun contrast to  the Silver and Gold paper pack.

Quick and easy version – stamp image in Raspberry ink and add colour with Shin Han markers.

Fancy Version – Trim the background layer in to 3 pieces and use ribbon in place of cardstock for the horizontal strip.  Fussy cut the stamped image, add White & Gold Twine and use foam dots to pop it up.   Add Bashful Pearls to the image.Christmas Tunes Stamp of the Month for October 2017 - such a fun set to own. Plain or fancy? Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

Let’s look at ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ next.   Fern ink complements the Beary Christmas paper.

Quick and easy version – Colour stars with Shin Han marker.

Fancy Version – Add Beary Christmas red dots and Bitty Sparkles to some of the stars.  Place a Gold Glitter Gem in the star at the top of the tree.  The extra layer of Cranberry cardstock helps the image and border to stand out.Christmas Tunes Stamp of the Month for October 2017 - such a fun set to own. Plain or fancy? Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

Finally, Baby It’s Cold Outside.   Sapphire cardstock provides a strong contrast to the Gold & Silver Paper Pack.  Crystal Blue ink gives the look of a snow globe.

Quick and easy version – Add Clear Shimmer brush to the inside of the globe and to the base.  Sorry the photos doesn’t show this very well.

Fancy Version – Add in Silver Glitter paper – stamp the snow globe onto scrap paper to create a template for cutting the base segment.  Add Bitty Sparkles and Clear Sparkles inside the globe.Christmas Tunes Stamp of the Month for October 2017 - such a fun set to own. Plain or fancy? Order yours at www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

What will you choose – classic or fancy cards?  Or will you try one of each?  I hope you enjoy creating them as much as I did

You will find a list of the products used on the layout at the end of this post.

Christmas Tunes(S1710) is only available during October, 2017.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant.

Cats and Bats/Falling For You CTMH Australasian Blog Hop

Welcome to the CTMH Australasian Cats & Bats/ Falling For You Blog Hop.  This hop features the artwork of some amazing and talented women from across Australia.
If you arrived from  Doris’ Blog  you are in the right place.  If this is your first time on a blog hop simply read on, enjoy my creations and maybe share some love in the comments. Then you click on the link at the end of this post and it will take you to the next blog and so on and so on. Easy and fun! Best part- you can see lots of different projects you can create with Close To My Heart’s Cats & Bats and Falling For You collections!   When you land back here, you are done and it’s time to hit the scrapbook room for some crafting fun.

The Cats & Bats and Falling For You collections are available until the end of December 2017.  Buy them as  full kits or purchase individual items.

Today I am sharing a layout from each of the featured collections.  It is the same layout – copied form p20, Pattern 8 of Make It From Your Heart Vol 3. First up is the one using Cats & Bats.  These photos were taken in a very English garden in Halifax, Canada.  The willow print paper was perfect for the background. I’m sorry it doesn’t show up well in this photo.

Scrapbook layout created using CTMH Cats & Bats papers and co-ordinating stamps & dies. View the full collection at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

That pretty border is made using the Scallop Border Thin Cuts (Z3348) – I love the way it softens the page.  The very cute row of blooms is made using the new Falling For You Scrapbook Stamps and co-ordinating Thin Cuts (Z4044).  Once you have stamped the images, pick up a little ink from the lid of the ink pad with your water brush and roughly colour the petals and leaves.  Don’t stress about perfection – the naïve style is ‘in’.

As always, there were more photos that needed to go on this layout.  Design 2 of the Pocket Plus Memory Protectors allowed for 3 extra photos and a journaling box. The 4″ x 6″ Flip Flap allowed room for an extra photo and more journaling.  I love that I can tell a really long story without compromising the beautiful design features of the layout.

CTMH Pocket Plus Protectors and Flip Flaps allowed me to use twice the photos on this one layout. Purchase yours at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

Next up, I repeated the same layout using the Falling For You collection and photos taken in a maple forest in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia.

The soft colours and delicate patterns from CTMH Falling For You collection paired with the Cardmaking Stamps and Thin Cuts made the perfect accompanianment for these forest photos. Purchase supplies at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

The leaves in the stamp and thin cuts from the Falling For You Cardmaking set are just gorgeous.  The fine detail in the stamps helps them look life like.  These leaves are symmetrical so you can use the light and the dark side of the Toffee cardstock to get some subtle variation in the leaves.  Goldrush and Fern ink pair perfectly with these papers and the bronze sequins add a highlight.  The title was stamp using the Colorblock Alphabet (D1729).

Once again, the layout needed extra photos added – Design 2 Pocket Plus Protector to the rescue!

Design 2 Pocket Plus Protector was used to add 4 extra photos to this scrapbook layout. purchase yours at shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

S1708 School Year Australasian Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to the August Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from Nell’s Blog, you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and hopping until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the School Year (S1708) stamp set which is August’s Stamp of the Month.

S1708 CTMH Stamp of the Month, School Years. Perfect for school albums but look closely for some fab generic images on here too. www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

Aren’t these school themed images  fabulous?  You could use the Back to School next to the annual class photo helping your album to flow from year to year.  I know lots of you take first day of school snaps but how fun would it be to also include a last day of school photo alongside it to show how your child has changed over the year?

Now before you say, “I don’t have any school photos to scrapbook”, take a close look at this set.  Half the images are generic – a great frame, speech bubble and arrow to go on any layout.  The pencil and hearts lend themselves to lots of themes too.

My layout today has nothing to do with school.  It is a tribute layout.  A tribute layout is all about celebrating your relationship with someone.  It’s a chance to record what you love about them and to document some treasured memories.  I am starting to add these layouts to my Book of Me album as a way to record those people who have meant a lot to me over the years.

S1708 CTMH School Year and D1751 Punny Pals create a tribute page for your album

School Year S1708 and Punny Pals D1751 stamps have many great images to compliment your scrapbook layouts. www.shaunnarichards.ctmh.com.au

The multi-choice box title is easily covered with a small piece of paper to change the theme from school to something new.

You will find a list of the products used on the layout at the end of this post.

School Year (S1708) is only available during August, 2017.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant.

G1128 Prickly Pear Workshop Kit is available for purchase from www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au

There are 3 co-ordinating stamp sets for this kit.  This month, you can buy 2 and get the third one FREE* (For stamps only, not available for Thin Cut & Stamp bundles.  Stamp of lesser value is the free one).  I have used stamps from all three sets in the layouts I’m sharing today.

CTMH Prickly Pear Collection - order yours at www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au

Tangerine and Sorbet cardstock look so pretty with a Sea Glass base.  The glitter strip is also Sea Glass.  The solid Oval Thin Cuts add a little interest to the border.

CTMH Prickly Pear Collection - order yours at www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au

The second layout used up scraps of paper, cardstock and embellishments.  The block design could also work on the outer edges of the layout but I liked the focal point it created in the centre.  The starburst border stamp worked well again along with the burlap ribbon and sequins to add some texture to the design.
CTMH Prickly Pear Collection - order yours at www.shaunnarichards.closetomyheart.com.au
Each piece of the central pattern is 2″ wide.  Each vertical strip contains 2 pieces 2″ high and 2 pieces 3″ high.  The last piece is trimmed to fit the space left.  The emerald pieces will be for journaling.  I liked the idea of using “Date” and “Place” as headings for journaling when they would traditionally form part of an invitation.  The cactus was cut from printed paper but you could stamp them if you’ve used all of the print in your pack.

The foxes and flowers are petite so you can fit a few on a card or page border.  They all look great coloured with your favourite medium and the sentiments are fun.

The next card uses the Wood Slats embossing folder.  Once it is embossed, simply run the Desert Sands ink pad over the raised elements to create contrast.  Move the inkpad in the direction of the lines with a light touch for best results. The frolicking foxes were hand cut.  The wood panel paper is also from the No Worries paper pack.
