This layout follows the one I shared on March 15. I love that my daughter, her beau, my niece & nephew and my sister and her husband are all very happy to ham it up for the camera!
The layout was created using Dreamin’ Big papers(X7218D) and complements (X7218C). It came together very quickly and features 11 photos – getting lots of snaps on my pages is important to me!
The stickers from the complements make perfect little journal boxes. I had already told the main story for this event on the previous layout so a simple caption was all this one needed.
Rather than mounting the photos I chose to distress the edges using Close To My Heart’s Edge Distresser (Z1297) You just run this gadget along the edge of your photo and it textures it for you.
The title cluster was created with the left over stickers on the Complements sheet. Using a large sticker as the anchor point draws your eye and 3 smaller elements positioned in a triangular formation are pleasing to the eye. The title letters were left over from my Welcome Wreath I made in January.

Welcome to the Australasian Swan Lake Blog Hop. This is a circular hop. If you arrived from Vandra’s blog you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it. Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from. Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Swan Lake Workshop Your Way Collection (G1112) from Close To My Heart.
I completed the 3 layouts following the instructions for the kit (which you can download from your Consultant’s website). If you don’t have a consultant you can click here for my website.
Using the leftover papers and embellishments I created 2 extra double page layouts. Once these were done, I only had a few scraps left and they were tossed in the bin. How fabulous is it to use EVERYTHING in a collection – no storage required.
The title is created using the Swan Lake Complements. (X7212C) All the flowers were created with the Thankful for You thin cuts and stamps bundle (Z4007). The flowers vary in sizes and can be layered. A photo will cover the swans cut apart card, just leaving a thin border of sapphire showing. The narrow strips of light blue paper are zip strips cut in half.
My second layout used the last of the complements and a few more stamped flowers. Both these pages will feature photos of my lovely mum with her carers. They make her very happy and I want to acknowledge their role in her life, in her album. Here are some close ups from each page.
The Swan Lake Workshop Your Way (G1112) kit and Thankful for You Bundle are only available until the end of December. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you can order online through my website . A list of products used in this project appears below.

The paper fundamentals are so easy to use! If you haven’t tried them yet, I’d encourage you to get your hands on some. One side of the paper is shiny with an embossed pattern on it and the reverse is matte, features the same pattern, but adds white to it.
If you like scrapbooking with solid colours you will love the subtle patterns of these packs.
My layout today is one of the designs featured in the Simply Fundamental Bundle offer.
I cried a little as I made this tribute to my beautiful cat, Tiger, who passed away this year. I love that my albums give me a place to record feelings as well as events.
The cat and ball of wool stamps come from Love My Cat (A1181). I stamped them in black ink on plain cardstock, fussy cut and raised them on foam tape.
All the other embellishments came in my bundle from this month’s special. It’s a great deal. Choose any album you like and receive Enchantment Fundamentals Papers (Z3126), Enchantment Fundamentals Stickers (Z3164) and Peacock Fundamental Assortments (Z3098). You also receive a pack of page protectors FREE. That’s a saving of $29.50. We have 5 fab layouts you can make with your papers PLUS I will be offering a free class in January to each person ordering a bundle from me this month AND I’ll post you pre-cut pieces to make the fun UP! page I featured earlier this month. I’m powering through my 2014 pages! Up to June already. It’s hard to believe this was the beginning of Kathryn and James 6 month journey to Uganda and Europe. They’ve been home and gone again since these photos were taken.
March is the final month we can order Hopscotch papers and I just had to open one more pack – I have loved using this collection. The colours and patterns have just worked with so many different page themes.
I used the stickers from the collection, called Complements in CTMH speak, which made the page super quick to complete. The title was a larger sticker but I cut it up to make it less dominant on the page. Pretty proud of myself blending thick twine with the circular stickers too… what do you think?
Glue dots are the best adhesive for securing the twine when you wrap it over the edge of the paper. They hold the twine in place and are not messy to use. Click here to see what they look like.

I have a friend who has a birthday on Anzac Day – how lucky her friends are never working on her birthday! We joined her family to celebrate the occasion with a twilight sail. It was a perfect Perth evening and such a happy time. How fortuitous that Close To My Heart has the Seaside papers (X7192b) and Complements stickers (X7192c)! They were perfect for my photos.
I based this layout on the Clean Dimension layout on pages 102-103 of the Cherish How To Book (9038) I love how easy it is to create the basic design of the page using the book and then personalise it for your photos. This book has 50 double pages layout designs and sells for just $20.

When I was at the CTMH Convention in Disneyland, I spent some time in the theme park (as you do) and one of my favourite activities was watching the parade in the afternoon. The first day I watched the characters and was caught up in the magic of it all. The second day I was standing behind a little girl, all dressed up like a Princess, who was having the time of her life. I think I spent more time watching her priceless reactions than I did the show.
This layout is featured in the Brushed WOTG Kit and it is perfect for my photos of the Disney Princesses in the parade. The Brushed complements stickers are vellum so you get to see a little of the papers through them – gorgeous! The page came together really quickly.
I have a little trick I can show you in class for cutting the green frame around the yellow paper – it’s quick and saves paper. Ask me to show you how next time I see you.
Click here to order your Brushed papers and complements or drop me an email. I’m featuring this pack in all my classes throughout November – it fits so well with all the beautiful blooms in the gardens here in Perth at the moment.
