Hello Lovely Stamps & Thin Cuts

Standard

Hello Lovely Congratulations CardOne of the best parts of managing a team of consultants with Close To My Heart is recognising them for achievements within their business.  For some it is acknowledgement of amazing sales or recruiting and for others it is recognising their first tentative steps in the business.  I like to make cards each month to send to team members.

As women, it is so rare to have someone tell us we are doing a great job.  I know that receiving happy mail in the post gives my team members such a buzz.  I was particularly happy with this month’s batch of recognition cards and thought I’d share the idea here as this one actually came from my own head and wasn’t copied.

The Hello Lovey Cardmaking Bundle (Z3301) includes stamps and co-ordinating thin cuts.  This makes it so easy to cut around the flowers and the banners.  I was sooo grateful for this feature as I had LOTS of cards to make!

Hello Lovely Congratulations Card

Cut your shapes first and then stamp – it’s faster for bulk making.

Hello Lovely Congratulations Card

Stamp the flowers using Sweet Leaf ink.  Next outline the flowers with water colour pencil.  This does not have to be exact at all and is very quick to do.  Keep the point of your pencils sharp.

Hello Lovely Congratulations Card

To blend the pencil, use your clear Shimmer Brush (Z3293).  Begin on the outside of each petal and drag the colour to the centre.

Hello Lovely Congratulations Card

Trim 1/4″ from the long side of card base.  Stamp small flowers at outer edges of arrangement directly to the card and then add Thin Cut flowers using foam tape.  Let the flowers hang over the right hand edge of the card by 1/4″.  It will still fit in the envelope because you trimmed the base earlier.

Hello Lovely Congratulations Card

The final step is adding Gold Shimmer Brush (Z3316) to the leaves, stamping the banner and sentiment (which came from another stamp set in my stash) and adding a few Gold Glitter Gems (Z3312).  Need some of the supplies used for this project?  Visit my website to shop online.

We have a great joining offer this month (Feb 2017).  Have you ever thought about joining our team of Dazzling Duchesses?  We are a supportive and encouraging group and I know you would love being part of it.

Australasian December Stamp of the Month Blog Hop – Candlelight Garden S1512

Standard

Blog BadgeWelcome to the December Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from Leah’s Blog you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Candlelight Garden (S1512) stamp set which is December’s Stamp of the Month.

S1512

This stamp set lends itself to watercolours perfectly and what better paper to blend with it than Kaleidoscope.  My layout today celebrates the relationship between my mother and my daughter.  It’s a very special bond they share.

This design is from Magic (9040), one of my favourite How To Books when  a special layout is required. You will find it on page 110.

The little heart on the stamp set is gorgeous.  Colour each one with watercolour pencils (3505) and cut them out.  The lagoon paper was dry embossed using the Stripe Embossing Folder (Z1960)

I wanted to create a space for Kathryn to journal her own thoughts about Nanny so created these 3 pockets on the page.  The Gypsy print paper is mounted on Thin 3D Foam Tape (Z2060) so the journal tag can slide into it.

Mount the bunch of flowers on Thick 3D Foam Tape (Z1151) so it sits over the pocket.

Candlelight Garden (S1512) is only available during December, 2015.  Full retail price is $27 but you can have this gorgeous set for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order. Place your order with your CTMH Consultant.

Did you like this layout? I’d love you to leave a comment for me before you click on the underlined link and move on to Vandra’s Blog , Vandra’s Virtual CTMH Craftroom, to see what she has designed for you.

June SOTM – Clown Faces

Standard

I happened to glance down at the Ice Cream cone stamp on my work table one day when the stamp was upside down.  All of a sudden all I could see was a clown’s head – the ice-cream had gone!

All my ladies at Saturday’s Paper Picnic loved these cuties so much I thought I’d share the ‘How To’ with all of you.

Turn the ice cream cone upside down and make a clown. CTMH June SOTM 'Ice Cream Dream' S1507 is so versatile!

Turn the ice cream cone upside down and make a clown. CTMH June SOTM ‘Ice Cream Dream’ S1507 is so versatile!

  1.  Stamp 2 Ice Cream cones in Pixie ink on white daisy cardstock.
  2.  Use watercolour pencils (3505) to colour the hat and the clown’s hair.
  3.  Begin with the nose on the face.  Use watercolour pencil to draw a circle and colour it in, leaving a tiny bit of white showing for the ‘shine’
  4.  Next draw the eyes, eyebrows and smile line with black journaling pen
  5.  Colour the lips around the smile line and add some rosy cheeks.
  6.  ‘Smooth’ out the colours with a blending pen (3174).
  7. Cut out the clowns making sure to snip off the drip which just looks weird when sticking out of a clown’s hair 🙂
  8.  Finally, add a tassel to the hat using a small piece of twine.  I stuck mine in place with glue dots.  Your clowns are done!
  9.  Use a Cricut Cut overlay as a stencil to sponge the background pattern on the card.  I used CTMH Artbooking p62 Overlay Shift 5″
  10.  Add some scrap paper and the ‘Your are my happy’ sentiment and your card is done!
