Australasian Blog Hop – Magical Collection

Blog Badge

Welcome to the Australasian Magical Blog Hop.  This is a circular hop.  If you arrived from  Kara’s Blog  you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it.  Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from.  Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Magical Workshop Your Way Collection (G1108) from Close To My Heart.

My layout today is based on  one in the Reflections How To Book (9037) – page 70.  We attended a performance of Matilda the Musical the night before our Close To My Heart Convention in Melbourne.  It was a fabulous show and I wanted a reminder of it in my album.

I love the primary colours in this pack.  It is ideal for masculine pages, school themes and kids events.  The embellishments lend themselves to theme parks, Disney and party photos. It is also perfect for theatre outings! I just love that paper with the cameras on it.

I had already used the words from the sticker sheet on another project so for this layout I simply trimmed the backing sheet and lay the word frame on to contrasting paper.  A few of the coloured sequins either side gives the illusion of a border without the need for a solid piece of paper. The white twine also comes in the Workshop Your Way Kit.  So everything on this layout came from the one pack.  That makes it so easy to set up and clean up.

There are lots of die cuts in the Complements pack and I found several words that perfectly suited this amazing evening.  The PML cut apart sheet in the kit has several journal boxes – so fast and easy to use!

The Magical Workshop Your Way (G1108) kit is only available until the end of August.  Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you can order online through my website

Did you like this layouts? I’d love you to leave a comment for me before you click on the underlined link and move on to Doris’s Blog , Doris Taylor Creative Inspirations , to see the gorgeous projects she has designed for you.

National Stamping Month Paper Picnic

We celebrated National Stamping Month along with the launch of the CTMH Annual Inspirations and Holiday Expressions catalogues last Saturday.  Our event was a Paper Picnic attended by 35 ladies.

A Paper Picnic is a relaxed day spent creating with paper.  Some scrapbook , others make cards or create mini albums and gifts.  Everyone brought a plate to share for lunch, a bright happy smile and a willingness to try something new.

We began the day making Carborders – one for each of the new paper collections.

And here are the Carborders we made.  Not sure what a Carborder is?  Read this post for an explanation.

NSM CArmborder samplesI had 7 consultants helping at this event and it was enjoyed by all.  I love the way consultants in my team and area are happy to work together, sharing the preparation and running of our all day events.  They bring me such joy!

Carborder displays

To cap off a fabulous day of sharing and creating, our raffle and donations raised over $400 for Operation Smile!  A BIG thank you to all the ladies who contributed to the day.  You have put a smile back on the face of a child suffering cleft lip and palette.

Carborder Buffet Classes run once a month.  Sign up for my email newsletter here.  It will keep you up to date with classes I am offering in Perth, West Australia.

Giggles & Grins – workshop fun

One of the things I love about being a leader with Close To My Heart is sharing in the journeys of consultants in my team.  This page brings back lovely memories of a fun filled day in a wheatbelt town creating with 3 Dazzlers (my team is know as the Dazzling Duchesses) and some of their customers. Mike was my travel buddy and he spent the day editing our photos rather than page making.

I love using the Reflections How To Book to plan my pages

The room was filled with laughter as each lady created a cute card and a page layout.  I enjoyed meeting new ladies and re-connecting with others.  It makes me feel part of the community these ladies belong to.

This quick and easy layout was copied from 6C in the Reflections How To Book.  Reflections is my go to reference whenever my creative juices aren’t flowing.  I loved the clean lines of this layout.  I used Chalk It Up papers.

Keep Smiling,
