Jingle Joy Australasian Blog Hop

Blog Header 201115
Working with a card kit makes it so easy to produce multiple cards in a short space of time.  This kit features 4 designs which you can tweak to create 16 unique cards.

If you arrived from Dannii’s Blog, Scrappy Chicks, you are in the right place.  If this is your first time on a blog hop, simply read on and enjoy my creations.  Click on the link at the end of this post and it will take you to the next blog and so on and so on. Easy and fun! Best part- you can see several different projects you can create with Close To My Heart’s Jingle Joy collection!   When you land back here, you are done and it’s time to hit the scrapbook room for some crafting fun.

Connect through Christmas Cards

As mentioned last month, I feel that this year we need to reach out to those we love.  Share kindness and let people know they are in our thoughts.  A handmade card posted for Christmas is a perfect way to do this.

My goal is to triple the number of cards I sent last year so I need around 120!  Card kits are the answer.

I encourage you to get started early so your international cards are in the post in plenty of time to compensate for delays in delivery due to flight shortages.  A postcard I sent from Western Australia to the USA recently took 7 weeks to arrive!

Next up, set a deadline to have your cards for interstate Australian friends completed.  Cards between Perth and Melbourne are currently taking 14 days to arrive.  I’m sure this will blow out the closer we get to Christmas.

Sending cards early also means your friends and family get to have them on display for longer – a regular reminder that you are thinking of them.

Jingle Joy Cardmaking Kit

How beautiful are the four designs in this kit shown above? The Jingle Joy papers feature bright pinks and greens mixed with black & white prints.  They are super fun to work with for creating bright and cheerful cards.

The stamp set included in this kit is gorgeous.  You will use it over and over because it is suited to any gift giving occasion. In this workshop you will learn how to use ink blending on your cards to add highlighted background segments.

Make the cards the same…but different

The instructions included in the kit show you how to cut pieces for 4 each of the 4 designs.  You can make each card up exactly as the illustrations in the kit or you can do some easy changes to make them all look a little different.

Changes I have made:

  • Change the sponged background shape or colour
  • Swap the sentiment to Happy Birthday
  • Sponge over the black and white paper
  • Stamp in coloured inks
  • Change up the way you colour images by sponging over whole image, using shimmer brushes or Tri-Blend markers
  • Change the orientation of the card from landscape to portrait
  • Change where you use stickles on the stamped images and background papers

Order your supplies

The Jingle Joy collection is available, while stocks last, until the end of December, 2020.   Along with this card workshop kit, there is also a scrapbooking workshop kit.  You can also order papers, co-ordinating cardstock, PML Cards and 2 stamp/thin cut sets individually.  Check your consultant’s website.  If you’re an Aussie without a consultant, come shop with me by clicking here.

Next up is Doreen Watkin's blog, Scrapping and More. I’m sure you will enjoy her creativity.

Happy Scrapping,
Shaunna
