What A Hoot S1408A CTMH Australasian August Stamp of the Month Blog Hop
Welcome to August's Australasian Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you arrived here from Savannah's Blog you are in the right spot. If you happened upon us accidently, WELCOME to the hop. Once you’ve checked out my post you can click on the link at the bottom to the next blog on the tour. Eventually you’ll end up back here. Enjoy!
This month’s stamp set is a real hoot. At first glance it looks like a Halloween themed set but look closely and you'll see they are Duchess Owls!!!
I had lots of fun creating these pages. The owls are stamped onto our NEW Fundamentals papers using Stayz-On Ink. This ink is perfect for the shiny side of the papers, it dries quickly and doesn't smudge when you touch it. If you use this ink you do need a special cleaner for your stamps. Both are available in the NEW Ideas Book on page 183.
I stamped once on the shiny side and once on the patterned side and then fussy cut to paper piece their tummies and masks. There are 4 different sets of eyes to choose on the stamp set so each owl can have it's own character!
The star spangled flourish comes from the Great Job Stamp Set (C1588) I used Archival Ink (44751) for this one as it always covers well and pops off the page more than standard black ink. This is my go to stamp pad for sentiments too. I heat set the image and then coloured the stars with my delicious new Shin Han Markers (p180 of Ideas Book). Itty Bitty Sparkles (1263) on the ends of the curls add a nice bit of bling to this Duchess page.
This layout would adapt easily for birthday parties, fancy dress or even sporting teams if you dressed the owls in the right colours.
The What A Hoot Stamp of the Month is only available during the month of August. Full retail price is $27 (S1408) but why pay that much when you can get it for just $5 with a $75 order?
Today marks the launch of our NEW Ideas Book. Be sure to check out your consultant's website for a look at the online version. Look in the Products tab.
Now hop over to Natalie's Blog to see what she has created.
Happy scrappin’
