S1802 Sunny Thoughts Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog
Welcome to the February 2018 Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. This is a circular hop. If you arrived from Megan's Blog, you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it. Keep reading and hopping until you find yourself back where you started from. Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Sunny Thoughts (S1802) stamp set which is February’s Stamp of the Month.
The sentiments and images on this stamp set are perfectly sized for pages AND cards. The circular sentiment, “You are the sunshine in my pocket” can be cut with the 2 ½” Basic Circles Thin Cut.
My layout today features a photo of my daughter with my mum. They don’t get to see each other often and this is such a lovely snap that I wanted to have it on display in my craft room. I decided to print the photo in Black and White so it stands out on the page.
First up, trace around a bowl to get the circular shape for the leaves. Then trim the Daisy White Cardstock down to an 11”” square.

The hearts in opposite corners are sponged and stamped. Cut templates using the Basic Hearts Thin Cuts and scrap cardstock. Be sure to erase the section of pencil line before sponging or you will see it through the ink in the finished layout.

The large hearts are sponged with Sweet leaf ink and the small one is in Blossom ink. Keeping the templates in place, stamp over the sponging in the opposite colours using the hearts image from the Banner Love stamp set.
Once the hearts are complete you can stamp the vines. To get the right curve of the stamp, simply place your block over the pencil line and shape the stamp on the block to match the curve. You have to put the stamp with top of vine image where you want the bottom of the image because once you turn the block over the curve is the opposite. The is hard to explain but once you try it, you will see what I mean. Again, be sure to erase the sections of pencil line before you stamp each time.
To complete the page, stamp small flowers in Versamark Ink and heat emboss with Gold embossing powder. A few blooms in Blossom ink give the cluster a lift. Stamp the ‘Love’ sentiment from the What Matters Most stamp set over the lower heart. A small section on the Hearts Border Thin Cuts provides the heart strip accents and the tiny hearts near the flowers.
Finally, layer the base page and photo on Blossom and Gold Foil cardstock. If you cut the centre from both sheets you will have enough for the photo mount without needing a second sheet. Reverse the Blossom to the lighter side for the photo frame as the dark side dominates a Black and White photo too much. It’s such a bonus having two toned cardstock at times like this! Sunny Thoughts (S1802) is available to purchase for just $7.50 when accompanied by a $75 order during February 2018. It can also be purchased for $27 as a single item. Place your order with your Close To My Heart Consultant. If you don’t have a consultant, you are welcome to visit my website to place an order.
