S1909 Random Act of Cardness CTMH Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop
Welcome to the Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. This is a circular hop. If you arrived from Danni's blog, Scrappy Chicks, you are in the right place. Simply read through this post and click on the link to the next blog at the end of it. Keep reading and ‘hopping’ until you find yourself back where you started from. Each blog will showcase a project featuring the Random Acts of Cardness (S1909) stamp set which is September’s Stamp of the Month.
Beautiful Sentiments
Don’t you just love the mixture of fonts and the fun way these sentiments are arranged? They will look awesome on the inside or the outside of your cards. As always, I challenged myself to use this cardmakers stamp set on a scrapbook layout. The friendship stamp jumped out immediately and got things rolling.
Use Random Acts of Cardness on a scrapbook Layout
Looking through my scraps I found this white heart I had cut for a previous project. As often happens, I changed my mind and stored it away. Today it is perfect for my design.
To create the background stamping, begin with the open circle from Colourful Textures (D1784) using Wisteria Ink (it’s NEW). Don’t stress about making a perfect pattern, just fill the background shape. The sweet flower inside the circles, stamped with Saffron ink, and the little heart between them, stamped with Wisteria ink, both come from the Stamp of the month. The dots outlining the heart are made by repeatedly stamping the … in Glacier Ink.
Once you are finished stamping, use a sponge and Lilac ink to colour all over the heart. Make the shading darker toward the bottom. Sponging the journal box in the same manner ties the left and right pages together.
This layout will include photos of a very dear friend I am catching up with soon (that’s why the photo wells are empty!) I knew the friendship quote needed to feature on the layout … then it became the title. The Mix In paper pack in our newest catalogue is just lovely. All the printed papers on this layout are part of the pack.
Add a couple of vellum butterflies from the Every Little Things Vellum Di-cuts. Colour them with TriBlend Markers to co-ordinate with your papers.
The little black dots were created using Stickles Glitter Gel. Add these last, just before leaving the craft room, so they can dry without you accidentally smudging them.
