S2112 Owl Love You Forever Blog Hop
Look beyond the obvious on the Owl Love You Forever stamp set to discover some fabulous patterns you can use on a very simple card design.
I’m delighted you’ve joined the Owl Love You Forever Stamp of the Month Australasian Blog Hop. If you arrived from Dannii’s Blog, you are in the right place. There are just the two of us this time round so the link at the end of this post will take you right back there. Our blog posts each showcase a project featuring the Owl Love You Forever (S2112) stamp set which is December’s Stamp of the Month from Close To My Heart.
No owls were harmed during stamp surgery
I did not have a current project that needed an owl but I kept looking at the beautiful filigree on the main owl’s wings and thinking how pretty it would look heat embossed. I knew stamp surgery was required and tossed around a few ideas in my head. I think they would make awesome flower petals or look fab as a textural imprint on small cut shapes.
I needed to make a birthday card for one of my nieces and a wedding card for another niece. So I made both using the same technique!
White cardstock and silver heat embossing
This combo is always elegant and allows the stamp design to be the hero of the card.
Watch the video to see the process I followed.

Fantastic idea that has lead to some very pretty cards 😍
Thanks Alison, I was really happy with the results
So very clever Shaunna, they are gorgeous cards.
That's awesome Shauna. I love it. So simple and yet so elegant. I have always been a bit scared of stamp surgery, but seeing this I might give it a go.
What a great idea Shaunna!
