Celebrate!

sept-2-pages-page-007
The first thing I thought of when I saw the Kaboom Stamp of the Month was fireworks.  For me fireworks mean New Years Eve celebrations.  We had a very quiet night in for New Year last year, watching a Robbie Williams concert and the telecast from Sydney leading up to their fireworks.  So, my only photos of the night are a dodgy selfie and a snap of the TV screen!

This layout is a copy of the one on page 15 of the Feb-Jul 2014 Ideas book.  I used Jubilee papers on my page.  Did you know we have a …

Freo Architecture

sept-2-pages-page-007
We just love walking around cities and looking up - all sorts of architectural delights await when you raise your eyes above the shop fronts.

For this layout I chose the Paper Fundamentals Basic Assortment Papers (Z1939).  They have a monotone, glossy resist pattern on one side a pattern on the other.  Both sides accept ink around the edges.

I accented my page with Wood Grain Washi tape (Z1930).  For this effect, simply stick a little down, double a bit onto itself and then stick the next little b…

Miss Beauty

sept-2-pages-page-007
This gorgeous, ball obsessed fur baby is Beauty.  She is my mum's dog but we care for her now mum is in an aged care home.  Mum always says, "Her name is Beauty.  Beauty by name and beauty by nature." and she is absolutely right.  Beauty loves nothing better than a really long run on the beach chasing a tennis ball.  If we are too far behind she will play by herself, letting the ball go at the tide line and then running to catch it just as it hits the water.

Husbands beware...

sept-2-pages-page-007
It's hard to believe, but Mike volunteered to be locked in the stocks!  The lady tour guide at the Round House and I had a really good laugh about that.  Lucky for him we had a lunch date planned so I agreed to his freedom.

This layout is copied directly from the Magic How To Book. (9040) You will find all the measurements and instructions on page 62.  The letters for the title were cut from an extra photo I had.  It was a close up of the limestone walls.  The papers and stamps used come from the…

Fishing

sept-2-pages-page-007
My husband only goes fishing once or twice a year.  This trip was ocean fishing with a group of industry colleagues.  He only caught the one fish but enjoyed his time on the boat.  The rows of reels caught his photographer's eye as did the jetty boards. 8x4 Blog double page photos - Page 005 I used Timberline papers with Indian Corn Blue cardstock for this layout.  The design was super simple so it was a quick page to make.  When I scrapbook photos of Mike's adventures I try to honour his belief that pages should be classic and mode…

Mother's Day

sept-2-pages-page-007
I hope all the mums had a great day yesterday.  Mine turned out to be just so lovely... my family are so supportive of me and made sure I didn't have to do a thing all day (except eat and sip champagne).  I wanted to make this page while the memories were fresh so my journaling told the complete story.  I don't usually type my journaling, preferring hand writing (warts & all) but there was quite a long story to tell.

Mothers Day

So, I chose a very simple layout, based on a card I'd seen by Kimberley Thomas o…

Love Ewe

sept-2-pages-page-007
We stayed at a B&B on a farm just out of Narrogin last year.  The cottage we were in was an original building and was quite lovely.  Today's page features some orphaned lambs that were in the paddock next to our accommodation and shots of the farm.

Love Ewe

My sister actually created this page using my photos. Isn't she so very kind?  I love this layout.  She based it on 'Magician's Choice", p116 of the Magic How To Book.  Can you spot how much cleverness went in to these pages????

My clever team

sept-2-pages-page-007
My team of consultants, known as the Dazzling Duchesses, get together once a month with consultants from another team to share creative ideas.  We participate in a 10 for 10 Swap.  Each of us brings 10 of the same thing ( a card, page, border or embellishment) and swap them for items made by others.  I find having a collection of samples to share with you, my lovely customer, is so helpful because our teams have great ideas that they teach me and I can pass on to you.
