Passionate About Pages

I've missed these faces!

YAY! Reunited with our gorgeous daughter and her boyfriend after 3 months apart.  They have been having the time of their lives volunteering with a group called Soft Power Education in Uganda.  We've followed their blog and chatted on Skype but it's just not the same as having a hug!  I plan to make the most of  my time with them over the next 2 weeks we have together. london Here's those little journal box and travel log stamps again from the Wanderful WOTG kit.  I added the cute heart cluster from t…

Bon Voyage

sept-2-pages-page-007
I am at a stage of life where so many of my friends or their young adult children are travelling.  I often give a small gift before they depart and thought having a few Bon Voyage type cards would be useful.  Here's my first one made with some scraps left over from my Wanderful pages.

Wanderful Bon Voyage Card

The stamps on the card come from Here We Go (D1600)  I just love that globe!  To create a 3D look I cut out the globe and daubed the edges.  I also added a little daubing on the card base at the points the globe wou…

Who's the boss?

sept-2-pages-page-007
When travelling in a hire car in a foreign country, do you have trouble deciding who is the boss?  Is it the navigator or the driver?  You know what I'm saying here, don't you?  After several trips I have figured out the answer - the GPS Girl is the boss!  I just tell her where we want to end up and she bosses Mike endlessly throughout the drive.  "Perform a U-turn when safe to do so";  "Make a left hand turn in 400m";  "Re-calibrating route".  I love her!  I have named this GPS girl Sally Seasi…

Hip Pics Albums

sept-2-pages-page-007
My mum lives in an aged care facility.  She has dementia.  Mum has always loved little albums filled with photos of our family.  They help her remember who we all are.  One other benefit I've discovered is that they help staff to know a bit about the person mum is and the family she belongs to.  In the past I used Creative Memories paper albums but they don't exist anymore.  I'm thrilled to have discovered the Close To My Heart Hip Pics albums (Z1956) do the job perfectly.

This Face, These Hands

sept-2-pages-page-007

It's Father's Day in Australia on Sunday.  My darling Dad passed away 8 years ago but I wanted to honour him here today.  This is a layout from the vault, made just a few days after his death.  Scrapbooking really is my therapy and making pages of this gorgeous man helped me get through those first hard weeks without him. My darling dad I don't have anything clever to teach you in terms of stamps, embellishments or whizz bang tools. My offering here is what I believe to be the foundation of any scrapbook page…

Colouring in is so much fun!

I have always joked that my teaching degree was a Diploma in cutting and colouring.  I studied in the pre-computer age and majored in early childhood education so I made a LOT of charts in my day.  I LOVED it and always found colouring so restful.  It's good to know some things don't change.  With the introduction of the Shin Han Touch Twin Markers this month I can get my colouring fix once again. What a Hoot SOTM & Shin Han Markers The markers come in 24 colours, feature a fine tip and a chisel tip on each pen and are blendable.…

Goofy's Orchestra

Whilst visiting California Adventure we came across Goofy conducting an imaginary orchestra.  He was very funny and then I realised the fountains behind him were synchronised with the music.  Very cool.  I just had to dedicate a page to his antics. Goofy's Orchestra This layout is based on one called, appropriately, "Performance".  You will find it on p48 of the CTMH Magic How To book. (9040) The papers are this month's featured collection - Paper Fundamentals and these colours come from the Adventure Assortment…

Warm Fuzzies Door Hanger

sept-2-pages-page-007
Have you ever read or heard the story of 'Warm Fuzzies'?  When I was a teacher I would read this story to my class and have everyone decorate a paper bag with pictures & words relating to their personality.  Througout the day, other students would write a small note of encouragement or affirmation and secretly slip it into the bag. This was a "Warm Fuzzy".  You should have seen the delight on their faces when their bag had a warm fuzzy in it.  The kids would go out of their way to see good thing…
