Artfully Sent Butterfly Card

sept-2-pages-page-007
OK, it's official!  The Artfully Sent Cricut Cartridge is my new favourite tool.  It makes card making so quick and easy.  Here's a card I made using mostly scraps.

AS Butterfly card 1

The design is already on the cartridge.  All I had to do was load my paper into the machine and press 'Cut'.  I was doing a few for my team members so I ended up with lots of lovely butterfly die-cuts in different shades of blue which I plan to use on a page later.

AS Butterfly card

Once the base card is cut, use the die cut butterflies to guide your cu…

A Cut Above

sept-2-pages-page-007
I was at a friend's house on the weekend and her teenage daughter bounced into the room to proclaim, "It's only 8 more Fridays until Christmas!"

What's your reaction to that news?  Something along the lines of, "So much to do, so little time..."?

If that's how you are feeling then the Close To My Heart Cut Above Kits are made just for you!  Each kit comes with all the supplies you need to make 10 cards or 10 treat bags.  The BEST bit is that everything is pre-cut! Imagine putting together 10 gorge…

My wish for every new parent

sept-2-pages-page-007
Here's a simple card to make for new parents.  I've used the stamp set that comes with the Snowhaven Card WOTG Kit (G1085). The sentiment inside the oval frame talks about Christmas and sweaters.  I cut that out so it's just the frame and then I can use any sentiment in the middle. The papers are scraps from Snowhaven and Wanderful. Don't you just love the textures on these little hearts?

Welcome a new baby

A new baby brings so much joy so I had to add this little word to the back of the envelope.  Two of CTMH's ne…

Classic Doily

I fell in love with this stamp as soon as I saw it in the catalogue.  It's called Classic Doily (B1424) and it does remind me of hand embroidery.  I was playing with our new heat embossing powders and thought this stamp embossed with gold would look pretty special.  It does!  But you will have to believe me because I forgot to photograph it before I did the next step... colouring it in.  I had planned to keep one plain but the colours of the Shin Han Touch Twin Markers are so gorgeous I couldn'…

Make a pretty card box

sept-2-pages-page-007
Following on from last Thursday's blog, I decided to make another set of the Snowhaven cards as a gift for my friend who is a bit snowed under with life at the moment to think about Christmas preparations.  Having made the cards, I needed a container to present them in.

Card gift box

The My Creations range of chipboard boxes, frames and albums are perfect for gift giving.  I daubed around the edges of my box in Glacier ink and then cut paper panels to fit to top and sides of the box.  Add some left over embell…

It's time to think about Christmas Cards

sept-2-pages-page-007
Yes!  It's only 11 weeks until Christmas so let's make sure that resolution to actually SEND some cards this year is met.  I don't send 50-60 cards like I used to but there are a dozen or so really special friends who deserve a card each year.  The Snowhaven Cardmaking Kit was perfect for me this year.  The kit makes 15 beautifully hand crafted cards in an afternoon or evening.  You make 5 cards each of 3 designs.  Mine have been done since mid-August.  Guess how good that feels!

Bon Voyage

sept-2-pages-page-007
I am at a stage of life where so many of my friends or their young adult children are travelling.  I often give a small gift before they depart and thought having a few Bon Voyage type cards would be useful.  Here's my first one made with some scraps left over from my Wanderful pages.

Wanderful Bon Voyage Card

The stamps on the card come from Here We Go (D1600)  I just love that globe!  To create a 3D look I cut out the globe and daubed the edges.  I also added a little daubing on the card base at the points the globe wou…

Colouring in is so much fun!

I have always joked that my teaching degree was a Diploma in cutting and colouring.  I studied in the pre-computer age and majored in early childhood education so I made a LOT of charts in my day.  I LOVED it and always found colouring so restful.  It's good to know some things don't change.  With the introduction of the Shin Han Touch Twin Markers this month I can get my colouring fix once again. What a Hoot SOTM & Shin Han Markers The markers come in 24 colours, feature a fine tip and a chisel tip on each pen and are blendable.…

Inspiring Cards

sept-2-pages-page-007
Today's post features some beautiful cards made by my team members and colleagues for last weekends product launch.  They are sure to get your creative juices flowing.  I'm on a mission to encourage more people to create and mail handmade cards 'Just Because' they can.  We only receive dreary bills and statements in our letterboxes these days.  Let's brighten someone else's day by writing a card and posting.  I'd love to hear how your friends and family react when they receive them.

These lovely creations are by team member, Sharon Hawton, and feature the Brushed Collection These lovely…

When is an owl not an owl?

sept-2-pages-page-007

When it's a cat!

This clever idea is one shared by a fellow consultant, Doris Taylor, at a recent consultant crop day.  Having a tendency to crazy cat lady behaviours myself, I couldn't resist making up a couple for this card.  I plan to send it to a lady I have recently met - I know we are going to become firm friends.

What a Hoot CTMH Aug SOTM

To create the cat you need the August Stamp of the Month, What a Hoot (S1408).

This gorgeous stamp set can be yours for just $5 when accompanied by a $75 order or $27 full ret…
